Imperial archers remain my favorite. They are a "little" bit more expensive in term of leadership but they do so much more damage and considering I have a doctrine which gives them the rain of arrows ability they are prefecture archers but better

@@Matthias-tc4ec I partially agree with Matthias. Imperial archers are the best heroic archers hands down due to their raw damage output combined with high penetration, but I still think the namkans remain the best unit per value due to their bleed, giving them a spot even against high armor targets. With that said, prefecture archers are undoubtedly the best in silver era only games with no decent shield walls and low armor across the board.

Ya know Knight, I never thought about Perfecture since I have had Namkan since day 1. I commend you for trying to think " outside the box" so to speak. I did actually recruit these, and I was very Pleasently surprised at how well they function. No thoughts yet on Vet Line as I need to use them more. Great Vid

Eyy, yeah Prefecture Archers are quite fun! One of my favorite units, they can use the purple doctrine of increased ammo quite well, and because they dump it so fast you can also risk them a bit more and their DPS will help clear the way!

I’d recommend going hybrid line, go bottom line until the last rate of fire increase and the rest goes to top line, that combined with honor tree upgrades and it gives more than 50% increase in fire rate.

The only wekness I can think of is the rate of ammo consumption. I dont really like refilling ammo. It like to simplyfie things

@@GamingDualities Think of it like javelin units. The more you can shoot in a smaller time frame the more damage and less risk you put your units in.

Think people in the comments section not remembering, or don't know that arrow rain doctrine actually carries a 35% damage penalty (or read arrow rain is fired at 65% unit damage.) This makes it very bad when put on Imp / Longbow Archers. The only thing you should be putting arrow rain doctrine on is archers that have a special affect on their shots IE Namkans / Rattan Archer bleed / Fire archers, since your taking the arrow rain skill for the faster fire rate. I like prefecture archers especially since they outrange Namkans. I take prefecture archers specifically to kill enemy archers and it's very good in doing. I am however moving to using Fire Archers with Arrow Rain doctrine instead for this role recently. Fire arrow + Arrow rain, whatever enemy archer formation i'm shooting at dies immediately.

Fire archers doesnt work with arrow rain...i tried..and when you use arrow rain...will stop firing fire arrows.

its best archers for me, amazing accuracy while use arrow rain, they follow the target automatically with that skill. i use bottom line with +50% ammo doc, its works very good for clear range units.

Prefecture archer are really a good anti archer and soft target unit, i had the veteran to mix upgrade point on full on attack speed. i went to bottom line attack speed and top line to attack speed, killing any range unit within 2 second.

This... Wow. 😲 Yeah, I am late. I never had Prefectures, but now I gave them a try. First match, MVP, 80% of my work with this unit. I traded the upper line damage to improve Arrow Rain, as I relied very much on this. I think the 4% piercing damage are not not as good as longer ArrowRain and CD reduction.

Nice guide. I love those archers too. Once u max them out with honour and max doctrines wiht +100 dmg on sige they monsters. Much better than Namkhans. Trust me. I also use diffrent vets. I take 4 points bottom for crazy arrow rain. U should rely on arrow rain since its autoaim. Easy 200 kills every game. Be carefull tho. Every single game there is a diver who wants to solo kill them. But they can not vs Maul or Spear XP. Archers deal massive dmg vs heroes which is surprising. But on my maxed stats they deal 2k dmg with 1500 penetration.

I still think the bottom line untill the RoF and then the 5 other points in the top line is better. A big advantage these guys have over the arrow rain doctrine is that the pref archers don't suffer the damage penalty, this makes them absolute dps monsters. Just last week i got over 100 kills with them without refilling their ammo. These guys do what longbows are supposed to do but much better i think, they have much better ballistic arcs where they can fire up walls and down from them, longbows seem to fire basically straight untill the very limits of their range. They are also better at counter archer fire than LB's, sure the longbows are safer from range but pref archers will kill the enemy much quicker.

these guys are absolutly deady in silver trials because they have a higher rate of fire and a better shooting angle than namkhans. Its nice to use them again after ages. But they do struggle a lot against shielded units and couldn't keep in the later game. So I switched to imp-archers

I'm finding them to be pretty good even vs the purple units. Shields do ofc cause them issues but thats all archers really. These guys are fantastic if you don't want to pay for the uber Imparchers :)

Heh, I didn't know that arrow rain is tracking enemies. Does it work like that with the one from the doctrine too?

well Ive never used them. I usually take Vassal. But why low tier archers have better volley arrow than vassal, make vassal become a bad archer. Can anyone answer me?

longer range basically. vassal is the best in term of killing other archer thanks to its range of fire. just dont use them to shoot at heavy infantry or cav since it wont do much.

Vassels have a much, much greater range - their downside is though that they cannot target shielded or heavy armor at all

Tks guys. In my opinion, they are so slow. The more range they have the slower their fire rate. It is scale with range because the arrow fly much further. Also they have the slowest fire rate among of all archers and their fire arc are also worse. Dev should rework them not only buff. Hope t5 would be better.

You should turn off the windows HDR, the game doesnt support it. It makes colors a bit grey and it looks terrible in any gradient :) Regarding the unit, I have a slightly different build: top until the attack speed and rest bottom, in the end you end up with more attack speed.

These guys used to be my favourite until I realized Namkhans just wreck both units and heroes and have cheaper leadership. I think Namkhans need a little bit of a nerf, just a tad to open up the diversity of the archer tree.

I'm finding my Nam's kill a lot less heroes now that the anti-bleed bandage is in play, but also I am seeing a lot less Nam's in general so I think they are tapering off generally
