Conqueror's Blade - Monastic Knights - Tanks With Legs?

So we are back with some more Conqueror's Blade as we get stuck into the Monastic Knights, really quite an interesting unit really, feel super tanky that combined with their awesome charge makes them a really effective unit at the moment and certainly one of the more beginner friendly high tier cavalry units!

@@lolofblitz6468 It is not a pay to win, it is a game that requires a lot of time to maximize the units, it is advisable to buy the season pass (10 euros for two months) for the rewards, but it is not necessary to pay, not even to be casual (only sieges) , nor to be hardcore (conquer areas). They have also been adding missions for new players for two seasons, the current ones can accelerate your game to do in a month what it cost us 3 months. Learning how to play and what units you need is much more important than paying money.

As someone that hates cavalry, playing free battle is basically me using pavise crossbow and other units to hunt down wave after wave of T5 cav hoping that they don't see me.

Hi Evo, Love your vids, some tips... You can ( Ctrl + click ) on the resupply camp to automatically send units to it, instead of having to position units inside the camp and you can even do it through buildings! Cheers!

I've only got them as auxiliaries at the moment at lvl 6 as I mainly play range, but decided to have a go with them again in a siege battle. Ended up getting 170 killls with them, they are very strong.

Glad to hear others agree, certainly the monastics feel quite strong at the moment. Haha yeah playing solo can always be quite brutal in deathmatch, particuarly when its the 5v5 because we can full stack and all be on voice comms etc

Consider they are one of the easiest T5 cav to get aside from(Ratten Rangers) since both required the least amount of honor. I think they are amazing :)

I brought out the village watchmen(30 leadership peasants) last week and somehow a whole unit of monastic knights got mixed into them in the dispersed formation and slowly eaten alive it was the most satisfying feeling ever.

The Knights are amazing! Even if you are stuck with units that counter mk all you have to do is try to survive and since they are tanky there is a high chance that you will. Even if they are low health they easily beat any unit when it comes to hand to hand combat and if a charge or an advance didn’t kill you then you can safely know that the person against you is truly fucked

I used so many elite units too many games in a row that I'm bankrupt of bronze. I can't reinforce my elite units cuz they are very expensive lol so now I'm tier 1 units only and I'm struggling 😆

In my experience monastics don't seem to ever survive long enough to be worth the slot. Like sure they may get like 60-80 kills. But as a t5 unit they limit what other units I can bring and stop me from impacting other areas of combat. I can run Paladins,Stalwarts,Conderetti and serfs can clean up like 200 kills and still have wiggle room to slot in an archer unit if need be. Monastics might be the tankiest cavalry units, but the amount of times I have seen these guys kill themselves standing around attacking instead of withdrawing as ordered make me really question if bringing them is a good option. Granted, I don't have their veterancy maxed yet. So they don't have the 10% reduced melee damage or extra defenses from top tree, maybe that makes all the difference.

They attack on their own without an order which really messes up my plans. They are super bad at withdrawing from combat and are slow on top of that. Usually 1 or 2 charges kills them off due to the above mentioned issues.

then you just havent figured out how to play them yet lol. If you use them in f2 or f1 they dont just run off, and you gotta keep them moving so you can retreat fairly quickly, dont make too big of a turn or they will slow down.

It is not the most useful cavalry, nor is it the most fun cavalry, but without a doubt it is the easiest tier 5 cavalry to use and that offers better results to players who, without specializing in cavalry, need to have some used (conquest of towns or attack people on the map). With the monastics and other tier 5 cavalry, any infantry player has that need met. In my case the other cavalry are the fire lancers.

@@jordicl4325 It is a cavalry that takes a lot of damage, but its role is not at all to take damage, you have shields or men-at-arms / paladins for that role. It's great to make a bad charge and have your cavalry survive when another cavalry would have died, but that doesn't make them tanks. Although its resistance makes it the friendliest T5 cavalry for newbies and infantry players.

It’s nice to have cav that do some roles but if they get mixed up in shit situations for them they are fucked. Monastics will find almost all fights good for them even against their counters a smart player can wreck the enemy

@@friendaccount5530 I know, that's why I say that it is a good cavalry for those who do not specialize in cavalry, it is easy to use and very resistant, it works "well" in most roles and everyone, lover of cavalry or not, should have it. let chivalry lovers use single-role units, and send our monastics behind, to sweep away whatever remains alive. That is why I have monastics and fire lancers, like many people, I prefer infantry to cavalry.

Well, thats not true. Full cav rushes can easily be stopped by combinations of pikes, and muskets/crossbows in TW. You just have to play properly as a house.

@@Ol_White_Fatalis Problem with that is the mobility factor. Its a lot easier for a calv unit to reposition if they make a mistake.

@@Tycvic They will get stopped and crushed right away when making a mistake against pikes and muskets/pavises. I've been playing TW in 2 strong houses for more than a year and i can guarantee you that, full cavalry setup can get destroyed by more balanced setups with anti cav units and also some cav on top of that. Full cavalry it's only used in open maps or to make kamikaze pushes to clear spots and let the infantry take positions attacking cities for example. Not a good strategy to go 15 cavalry party in most situations because it can be countered easily.

By far my favourite cavalry unit. I just dont seem to get the hang of any other. With Hussars I find my charges not even doing half as good, with Kheshigs I tend to see them dead after one charge usually, even tho they are much faster and hit very hard. MK all the way for me. (Also the best wedge formation imo)

Hussars have shit formations. A smart player with any lance can put play hussars even on 1 vs 1. Monastics have the best formation in the game and in general can win almost in every situation

i hate cavalry, there are so overpowered and expensive, yes some people could say the price justifys the power but, in a game where matchmaking isnt exactly super balanced, alot of people, inluding myself, cant afford to pay for the kits and horses multiple times a day for multiple units, thats what makes using bodkin arrows, imperial pike advance, volley fire and brace twice as fun, watching someones t5 unit of cav who got 300 unit kills and 6 hero kills in their last game, slowly die. Im not speaking out of salt either, i know how to play cav, i may not be my forte (terrible conqerors blade joke) i can get good kills with them, i would rather invest in fun units like tercios, imperial javelines, spear sergeants and so on
