@@KnightStalker Hey man love your vids! would you please make one on shield units? both offensive and defensive tips would be great. I'm pretty much only an infantry player and found your Pike video super helpful! its helped me heaps since hitting the level 60 matchmaking, I was struggling a lot after constantly getting only A's and S's below 60. Hey KnightStalker, Just wanted too say how much your videos have helped me understand things. This video and how you demonstrated using the Hero to get attackers too focus You, while your Archers gun em down. A Great Tip I never thought about and will be incorporating. I play a balanced mix, but still stumble over what the First Unit I should select be. Usually I choose my lv 6 Squires, although I have lv 12 Pikeman. Any thoughts? I also think your battle videos breaking things and your thought processes is invaluable. Great Work

Thanks for watching! :) Best first unit to level up is undoubtedly Pike Militia, they are the only green unit that can take on almost any unit in the game and win, they never become irellevant even in high tier games. Take the veteran line that has two ends, one is stun, one is double hit and its absolutely brutal :)

I have my Ironcap Archers Elited and the 15% movement buff is real handy and the CD is not too long that the buff is almost always available when needed. It can also get you out of the way of a charge or an onrushing hero. Though not a super unit, they can do a job on low armoured units.
@KnightStalker3 жыл бұрын
Ironcap archers are an overlooked quality unit right? Very flexible, low leadership

So you may cover it in a different video, but I haven't gone through your entire backlog yet. But I'm still pretty new, and I'm not sure if my warbands should be balanced or specialized going into matchmaking. Like, should I bring a force dedicated to one task, like a bunch of shieldwall units, or should I bring a little of everything?
@KnightStalker3 жыл бұрын
Tough question. I think balanced warbands generally do better because you can adapt to the way the game is going and pull out a unit that suits the area you are fighting in. BUT, this game is a marathon and I would super advise playing units that you enjoy rather than chasing a meta or worrying too much about which units are better than others etc because having fun and making the game enjoyable is the most important thing. Only thing I would add to this is that too many ranged units weakens your team, try to use just one or two and also you can never ever have too many pikes :)
@tychovelius93763 жыл бұрын
@@KnightStalker So far I'm enjoying most of them. Spear and shield get massively tanky, and I fight that style all the time IRL in games. DoT archers are a favorite, and I love the move speed on rattan roundshields and similar.

Really nice Video! How did you get all these purple doctrines?
@KnightStalker4 жыл бұрын
It's just a matter of collection over time, really. I wish I knew a shortcut for you. After a few hundred levels you end up with tons of bronze, silver, doctrines and all the other good stuff. The easiest way to get them reliably is doing the weekly quests and pushing along the reward track to get extra treatise rewards. This will also reliably get you the skill pages / books to learn ult ability upgrades. Interesting fact: When using treatise to get doctrines you will actually receive different types of doctrines on different days of the week. Check the possible rewards down the bottom of the screen so you don't get cavalry doctrines when you are looking for bowmen ones :) Also, the breakthrough and assassination blue doctrines (which are awesome) are only found on archer and cav days (i.e. not infantry days).

What is your opinion on crossbow units? I can't seem to have any good time with them and just feel disappointed. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
@KnightStalker3 жыл бұрын
There are I think only 4 in the game, desmense are terrible, arbalists are ok but they are same leadership as namkhans so maybe dont lol, the ratans are low key underappreciated and can be monsters, the pavise hit like a truck but are slow and not a flexible unit, they set up in ambush and wait. They play a lot like muskets, gotta keep them in close to the enemy and ideally behind other units. Dont forget units start at half their max strength and most dont get really good until they are mostly levelled up. Give rattans a go if you are feeling down on crossbows, win or lose I still really enjoy them :)

1st of all, everyone needs a good Archery unit. I don't care what your playstyle is, YOLO Nodachi needs archers more than anyone else, because that class has no range, and practically no Charge (The best way to deal with Archers. Preferably Charge with Shields) For sieges especially, either on attack, or defense, a significant part of this game is Attrition. Archers are DPS, ranged DPS, but if you just have to pick 1 unit? Longbows, hands down. This is a Ranged unit, range is your offense, and defense, Longbows have the most range. So, you can hit them sooner, and they have to cross more open ground to fight back.
@KnightStalker3 жыл бұрын
Longbows are widely considered to be underpowered, thats great that you are making them work! :)
@Psiberzerker3 жыл бұрын
@@KnightStalker DPS isn't their stat. Range is. They make up for that by starting to shoot earlier, and therefore being in combat, doing damage longer. Less damage over more seconds...
