Because it has a nice message and authentic talent, and the music industry isn't pushing that. They're promoting shallow, mindlessly formulaic catchy tunes that pollute your headspace until you've become so familiar with it, that you either are brainwashed or hate it. Younger listeners are brainwashed into making it popular, and the internet has allowed artists to become popular with very little to no talent due to views rather than artistic merit. . .
