@@TeslaDln Some old trade spots are destroyed, With the helmet key you can access places that weren't accessible from the beginning I.E the blockhouses and the doors with helmets on them. Then there's the running segment where you have to get the message to the captain of Fort St. Michael. New guns like being able to use the Chauchat and Hunting Shotgun and of course being able to storm the ENEMY trench and fight a German Sapper with a flamethrower. So there are very noticeable parts from Part 1. As yes you're revisiting Fort Souville again but you were sent out as a runner for reinforcements. So in a sense, you get to see how dangerous a runners job is and how going over the top is along with how brutal the commanders can be, either desperate or wanting glory.
@jamesnorman91606 ай бұрын
What gets me is that sometimes an enemy soldier stays on the ground, writhing and groaning in pain until you finish them off. And also, while they did have bayonets at the time they had a habit of getting caught on ribcages and in bodies in general, so they preferred to use trench shovels, clubs, etc. So you pick up this object used for digging out trenches normally and you're using it to cave in the side of someone's skull who tried to shoot you in the face. Also the fact the enemy soldiers don't really try to talk to you either. You hear the odd shouted word of German, but otherwise they just scream and yell as they came running in out of nowhere. And then finally, sometimes you're just looting random photographs off of their bodies. Someone's son, brother, husband, etc., dead at your feet. But it was you or him.

In the POW Camp, Bombed Camp, and Marsh segment. The tree with flowers I saw, I instantly recognized as a possible nod to the poem 'Where Poppies Grow'. The flower commonly grows in western Europe including Northern France and Belgium. When I saw them one thing came to mind and that was 'Flanders' because of it being so well known of the bloodshed that was there besides battlefields like Verdun. Reason being I thought this was because due to the amount of shelling that was done during WW1, It messed with the local fauna growing. So tree's couldn't regrow really on their own, grass couldn't grow back due to the gas, the internal irrigation of the locations were the reason why trenches had basically platforms above ground to keep the soldiers feet out of because the internal irrigation couldn't get rid of the amounts of water from the rain due to the shelling. Paschendale is a good example where tanks and trucks would get bogged down where they couldn't be used and abandoned. Trenches would flood, Men and Horses would even DROWN there. But with so many nods this is very much so a line of to Verdun. As a lot of the Forts such as Fort Vaux were involved in Verdun.

I like that their is no supernatural twist it seems. WWI was scary enough.
@calamityhex37296 ай бұрын
What I find interesting is that the developer has a clear understanding of tension. There's been a few moments now I've been either caught off guard or had tensed up expecting a fight that never came. I have no doubt if they wanted to go a supernatural route they'd have succeeded in it.

Can't believe no one's talking about how Andre carried the front line, his kill count is massive 😂
@theolabroers96145 ай бұрын
He didn't carry it, He *IS* the Front Line. If the Germans wanted to take the base, they had to go through him first.
@ThatOneCringyEdgelord4 ай бұрын
What did you expect? In Prologue and Chapter 1, Andre was just enlisted to the friench army and didn't know fully the true meaning of horrors of war. Before he lost his helmet in the Prologue, he was just walking thru trenches before, while first taking care of his wounded brother and then holding the line on his own for the first time, before he got knocked out by a sneaky Nightmare German. When he woke up on a pile of bodies and decided to go look for his brother, that's when Andre realised that he was the only one who somehow managed to survive the brutal attack and he had to rely on himself to get him and his brother out of the horrifying (or even traumatizing, judging by how lucky he got to survive the assault) war scape. During his journey to find Pierre, he had to learn how to shoot a gun without missing too much, despite his hands shaking constantly, how to heal himself up when needed or even how to efficiently defend himself with trench shovels and Raiding Clubs. In other words - Andre had to adapt to last long enough, just to find his brother and escape with him. That's the reason why Andre ended up alone in the trenches when Leutenant ordered him to defend the line. Our protag had no choice but to play commando to outlast others, even tho that would ended badly for him too.

i feel that finding the wine cellar is a missed opportunity. maybe there should be the option to fill up one or two empty bottles to help you reduce flinching . obviously it shouldn't be game breaking, in the sense you could keep going back and filling up, as you might rightfully assume plenty of other soldiers have had the same idea, so when you arrive there is only enough for one or two (like the free health refill in the mess hall?).

@AlphaBetaGamer6 ай бұрын
Hi! It's inspired by all Resident Evil games but RE4 especially (the dev cited it as an inspiration). The most obvious thing is the vendor who is pretty much straight out of RE4. Then you've also got other smaller things like upgradeable weapons, the key designs and the European setting. Then you've got all the inspirations that are in RE4 and the other RE games as a whole - inventory, saving, tank controls, puzzle design, etc. If you were to take all the RE games, switch the view to top-down and add a WWI setting the one CONSCRIPT would most resemble would be RE4.
