I really screwed up twice. I got a divorce and left with nothing except my children. Didn’t even go to court for child support. We agreed like 2 adults what he could afford and still pay his bills and what I needed to care for my children. The second husband, we just went our own way with what we came into the marriage with. And I stayed friends with both of them

Funny thing is when my sib had a amicable divorce where neither was asking for anything including child support. My sib was having the kids 5 days a week. My sib was walking away from the house and everything and not wanting any money. They didn't have an attorney. They chose a easy to divorce district where it should have just have been sending the papers in. Lol they kicked back the paperwork and said that my sib needed a lawyer. Thankfully this was all of my siblings choosing just to be free and no ties other than the kids. Also my sib has done everything to make sure they remain on ok terms especially in front of the kids. Including if they former partner needs to stay the night to get to go camping w the kids early in the am and not have to drive longer to get to where they will be camping.

Clearly the one guy needs to understand that a request from the opposition for documents is not a 'provide these documents or else' type of situation. You provide all the documents that you have access to and then you reply, officially, with the provided documents and note, officially, each document that you do not have access to and the opposition has the only access. Further, any request for items outside your purview, such as your mother's bank statements or something like that, you reply that is outside your scope to be able to collect and the individual that does have control of those documents, such as his mother, is not a party to the case. Then if the opposition files a motion to compel production of the documents, you can refer to the official reply/notice and go through each requested documented with the court.

But the only things I wanted was what I came into the marriage with, along with some towels, wash cloths, sheets, my vehicle and child support for our twins.
