This video has been an absolute saviour. We had a neighbours shed roof blow onto our conservatory in the recent storm. It had pushed the panels down and out of place. After watching your video, I was able to remove the top caps, reposition the panels, replace the top caps and now everything is secure until we properly replace the panels. ​@@aaanton11 Got the roof apart, found the framework in this particular part was 25mm wider than the panel so the panel has moved to one side allowing the long side to drop. Put it back together and put some aluminium down each side to keep it in the centre. Have some flashing coming to repair where mine and the neighbours house join and we get damp. Thanks again! Hi, don't know if you can help? I have a leak on a straight section below a joint in the frame. Do leaks tend to drop where the gap is in a conservatory or can they run down the inside of the frame for a distance? Not sure where to put silicon and scared of leaning on the roof to try to reach the capstone! Any help gratefully received (and awesome video so calmly explained - feel I can have a go at least as been quoted £5000 for a new roof and only have a small leak!) Thanks in advance.

Great video, I have a small leak, water drips off a semi-circular metal piece on the inside under the ridge cover end cap, the finial screws onto this. How does the end cap come off as I assume there is a leak on one of the panels under it? No obvious sign of a slipped panel.

Great video. My conservatory has just started leaking along the edge of a panel and the outside trim is raised in one area leaving a gap where the rubber seal should fit snug along the length of the poly panel. Thought it was a complete 'girder' type section which had warped. Thanks to your video I can see it's just a pop off trim so if I can reach where it seems to have popped off its clip (it's a big 5m square conservatory so quite a span) I will have a go at tamping it down with a soft mallet until the rubber seal is flush to panel again. The trim is clipped down top and bottom of the length - just raised in the middle. Thanks for the great help.

Did you get this sorted? I have this problem now no leaks yet but its lifted in the middle with a gap formed on the black seal trim. Fun trying to get up there and tap it back in place though!

One question, to get to the top of our roof, is it OK to place a plank across the aluminium struts to kneel on, is the frame strong enough to do that? Thanks again. 😊👍

Yes the frame will take the weight as long as you are across more than one strut, imagine if your roof was covered in snow and how much weight it would have to hold up this will give you an idea as to what the given stresses can be Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Those opening hatches, do the movable part come undone so I can remove the door part? I need to get up on top of the roof for a large lean-to style conservatory. Through the hatch seems the best way. The hatch has started to leak in the rain so need to deal with it from above.

What a really helpful video! I've got to remove 3 poly panels to try and clean out the insides of them using compressed air as they have loads of dead woodlice in them! I think the sealing membrane at each end of the sheets may be rotten! 🙄

@@RTahiri Hi! Yes, worked a treat! I removed all 3 panels, poured diluted bleach through each segment, hosed it all through and then pushed compressed air through each one. Left them on end overnight to thoroughly dry. Be careful with the compressed air as it can damage the very thin insert layers of plastic (there were 6 layers per segment). On reassembly, I sealed the end that abuts the wall with 50mm wide aluminium tape and the other end with a blue breathable tape. One year on and still good as new! Hope this helps.

Do glass splashbacks and silicone is a key part of fitting it ! Fugi tools are the best ! Yellow tools "joint boy" is the name on the box I believe ! Smooth and shaped beads ! Takes a bit of skill but makes a neat job

Hiya I e just moved into my grandads to care for him and the conservatory was leaking. The plastic roof had spid down quite a lot, anyway I fixed that and it's still leaking. Inside the main plastic cover has come off and there are 3 rubber screw things with a rubber pin going through them and that is where the water is coming in.what can I do to fix it. Please read this and reply. Because I'm out of ideas and I'm itching to use my no nails glue gun. Which is gonna make a mess. Thanks

It Depends on how old the conservatory is, under 5 years old the frames are usually stronger and able to take glass, you can board over and stand, if you imagine the weight of snow on the roof, boards and a person no problem, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Your end caps are missing from the ends of the rafters, thats why your panels are sliding down. also most poylcarbonate roofs are NOT designed to take the weight of glass therefore its not a good idea to replace the polycarbonate with glass.
