Why don’t they put them in airtight glass cases like the Egyptian scientists did?

While the Egyptian mummies are thousands of years old, people in Kabayan have living memories of these ancestors, and their culture still remains strong. A big part of the cultural tradition is that the mummies must remain in the man-made caves that they've been placed inside of, with as little disturbance as possible. That's why the team had to have so much consultation with them along the way - even just when installing the data loggers - and will be using their results to come up with solutions but consulting the community and ensuring they're happy before anything happens. 😊

That would defeat the purpose of mummification of that region being part of its tradition. It's like saying, why not just put them in city museums.
