I have a rb 3 it has a pull down reverse and dial for stitch length, novice sewer trying to teach myself. Definitely need to slow it down for auto upholstery, maybe a servo is in my future.

I’m looking to get into making my own automobile upholstery. Imagine my shock when I started watching the video to find out it is Woody Harrelson narrating this video! Haha. In all seriousness this was very informative!

Alexander, Thanks for your videos. They have been very instructive & helpful to me. You helped me decide which machines were best for my application(leather and canvas type materials).I'm buying a Consew 206RB or Pfaff 1245.Keep up the good work!

Do you know what size is the drive belt. I am searching for a belt for this machine.
@AlexanderDyer
@AlexanderDyer 2 жыл бұрын
They are all different depending on how the table is setup, pulley size etc. Measure total length around both pulleys and take that measurement to the auto parts store and get the size you need. If you have an old broken belt that is a little too long you can use that to mock up and get a little better measurement. Also take your motor adjustment into account as it has an adjustment on it for tightening up the belt once installed.

I have a 206 RB with no number listed after the RB. There was no wick's or top reservoir with the machine. However Im also not seeing any of the rubber plugs or holes where the wick diagrams show them to be. Did the original 206 RB's not have a wick system or is there a different way to set it up?

I am not sure, I don't remember but I can tell you that not all machines have wicks. There are a lot of manuals available for free that you should be able to find with a google search. If you oil the moving contact surfaces every 10 hours of use or so then you should never have an issue due to lubrication.

It seams flawless and gives zero damage to upper thread due to ''bobbin case opener'' (arm that rotates the basket clockwise when loop is leaving the fabric). Do you know any other straight stitch machine with ''bobbin case opener''?

I have a consew 206rb 1 and I am watching your video about removing the needle bar and hook. I am having a problem removing the thread releasing shaft there is a lot of rust inside the thread releasing shaft bushing on your video you just pull it out easily and I notice that it is nice and shiny (rust free) what do you recommend I do?
@AlexanderDyer
@AlexanderDyer 6 жыл бұрын
Rust is bad. Remove rust by any means necessary with extreme prejudice.... I'm just playing. Try some kerosene to clean it but be aware that it is flammable and take all precautions. Once removed, polish all parts, reassemble and lubricate.

I'm interested in purchasing a used Consew 206rb head only. I have a Brother db2-b755-3 with table, motor...ect. Would I be able to install a Consew 206rb into this table. I work with leather. I need a walking foot. I'm enjoying your videos. Thanks, Mary Kay Wilkinson
@AlexanderDyer
@AlexanderDyer 7 жыл бұрын
I think that should fit in the table. You may need to add a knee lift and or some other small tweeks but all doable and not too expensive.

Hi Alexander, After the 225RB, but before the 206RB, Consew produced the 255RB, and I have one. I also have a few questions. First, Consew often has a "-#" in the name but I can't find what the number means. For example, I see 206RB-5, which is the machine everybody wants, but how is it different from a 206RB-3? Second my machine, which is a walking foot, has about 5/8" clearance under the presser foot, if I lift it manually, meaning I grasp the foot with my fingers and lift it, but the lever only lifts it a quarter of an inch. I don't know what the knee lever will do because it is not in a table right now. So, I assume the lever lift is adjustable and that I should be able to tune. The shaft is easily visible and there are a few attachments, but the principal attachment seems to not want to move. Is the presser foot height generally adjustable ? Am I missing something? Thanks for the help, Chris.
