Hi, great video! I just picked one of these up at an auction! Are you aware of a source for the needle clamp screw? I tried my Consew 226 one, but it must be different. Not much online regarding parts for this machine. Thanks!

There is a dial for stitch length on the front of the machine. Not sure if the machine is capable of stitches that long.

How light do you think this could reasonably go? Once came up locally and I would be using it to attach elastic to knit fabrics.

Hi! What's the max thread size this machine will handle? I'm looking at a 199 RBL-1 and unclear to its max thread but guessing similar to the 99 model. thanks

Would the Consew 99 be a decent choice of a zig zag machine to use for sailmaking? I am currently using a Pfaff 138 and it is becoming a bit fidly.

I think all industrial zig zag machines are a bit fiddly especially from this time period. Timing is critical. Bernina 217's are popular with sail makers, even more so with 3 step zig zag. then Singer makes a good zig zag too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpe3m32oib10Ztk

Thank you very much for your input...greatly appreciated. I couldn't pass on the Consew 99 and am pleased with the price I paid and the value rec'd. This machine seems easier to buy parts for and it's a bit simpler to make the adjustments on than my Pfaff. Both are built like tanks. Thanks again.

@@AlexanderDyer Hello again. Sorry to be a bother, but is the needle bar thread guide on that Consew 99 the one that came with the machine? It looks like you were able to slide the thread in from the side, whereas the one on my 99 just has a small hole in the front bottom with barely enough room for the thread to clear the bottom of the needle bar itself.
