Consider Yourself as Eve with Meghan Farner

ScriptureNotes... - In the temple, we are instructed to “consider [ourselves] respectively as if we are Adam or Eve.” While there is a tendency to view this as only being applicable when we participate in the temple endowment, Meghan Farner believes that it is actually a “persistent admonition” and one that should define the lives of all disciples of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for sharing your insights. Another symbolism of the tokens, to me, are the marks on Christ’s body that occurred during his willing suffering for us that show us his mercy and love. We are accepting his love and his sacrifice and taking upon us his name.

I've heard an interesting interpretation of the temple presentation where we can all identify with Eve. In other parts of the scripture, Jesus is called another Adam and the Church is his bride. In mortality, it is the members of His church (humanity) that separates itself through choices. Adam then chose to leave with Eve to stay together. In a similar way, Christ condescended to allow us to remain with Him. I think it's another interesting way to view the temple.

Just a thought and hopefully it doesn't ruin your metaphor. When in the temple the person who represents the Father is facing toward the attendees of the endowment session and in this case, the sisters are on the right and the brothers are on the left. Maybe food for further reflection.

I hear her talk a lot about the law of sacrifice and the law of consecration on her channel, so I have to stop and question WHY would she charge MONEY for a temple class?! REALLY doesn’t feel like the law in effect!

Balance is foreign to Christ’s teachings. He teaches wholeness, completeness. He says draw near to me not balance your life. Balance always fails. If one succeeds in balance then something important was given less than required. That’s why wholeness is the result of Moroni 7, the conclusion to Section 121, and the goal of the Sermon on the Mount.

Have you ever purchased a book from Deseret Book? You probably aren't bothered that her book costs money because it's tangible. Just because something is in digital format doesn't mean it didn't cost money to produce and take significant effort to create. I don't understand why everyone has to give everything away as a sign of righteousness? Here is an older interview I did with Meghan and Corey Jensen who put that class together. I think this is an example of taking the statement totally out of context. If it is valuable to us why wouldn’t we pay for it. She needs to eat.
