The movie IF was triggering. It's about a girl who has a dad in the hospital waiting for a major heart surgery. As a 3 time survivor with PTSD from it, it was triggering

Heads up for the book Wicked, it is quite different than the movie and play, both in tone and in plot, and written for adult readers only. A lot of kids might want to read it after seeing the movie, I certainly would have at like 14+, and I don’t believe in book bans or anything, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone under 18 read this one.

As someone who read it as a teen. Maybe a read together if your teen really wants to read it. The topics that people may need a heads up on are SA, child neglect, s*x, p3d0philia, inc3st, and animal abuse

The flying monkey transformation was terrifying, just like the original flying monkeys

Yeah it was pretty intense, seemed a bit out of place compared to the rest of the movie imo

Might be worth noting that in wicked the main characters are moving away from home (to university) and therefore getting used to new bedrooms and roommates. Elphaba and galinda share a room and before they make friends there's a montage of mean-spirited (though not dangerous) pranks they play on each other or with each others' possessions. Might bring up some anxieties for foster kids who are getting used to a new room or a house they share with people that they don't yet know well

I would add for Moana 2 that, if you've got kiddos who have trauma around witnessing animal harm or threats of animal harm, at least one character jokes about eating Pua, which could be extremely upsetting to a child who has seen someone harm or threaten to harm a pet, but neither Pua nor Hei Hei is ever harmed.

the trilogy is more mature than the movie, i like how they kept the death of brightbill's parents though.

Thanks for doing this. I’m a young adult adoptee with C-PTSD. Movies sometimes trigger me.

I would love to see a reaction to mufasa, there are some scenes that are violent and I feel could be triggering. As well as the major plot being about family and being separated from family. I thought it was a good movie and liked the overall story and how it showed the dynamic of the characters working together to reach a goal. I’d love to hear what you think of it

These reviews are very helpful for me. I’m Autistic and am pretty sure I have PTSD (my current therapist absolutely refuses to listen to me but I’m hopefully going to be switching soon)

The bacon/boat snack jokes regarding Pua and Hei Hei from original Moana are repeated and amplified in Moana 2, can be uncomfortable for some.
