Legalism has little to do with lifestyle or behavior as a believer. Rather, legalism is the idea my behavior and lifestyle determines whether or not I am now saved, or can be saved.

I wouldnt agree with that statement because didnt Jesus said that people would know that we are a child of God based on our fruits (deeds) (Matthew 7:15-20)? Why then couldnt we, or anyone else assume one's relationship to Christ based on what they do or dont do??

@@stevenmarkle4574 No. In this passage, the contents of “fruits” is deeds. Jesus was telling his disciples that you will know who the false prophets are based on their fruits (I.E what they produce, or what comes out of them). You can only judge someone based on their actions not their qualities. Qualities are a hidden matter. I think your confusing this passage with that of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. The fruits mentioned in the passage IS about qualities
