Console 1 ReaLearn Mapping

Made this for the Reaper forum but thought I'd share here in case it was useful to anyone wanting to see what ReaLearn was capable of. Here I am using the Softube Console 1 controller with ReaLearn to control Reaper and various plugins.

that's been the biggest advantage. super helpful when I have a guitar in my hands or am standing up playing keyboard, can just reach over without looking and get things done while recording. makes the daw feel more like a tactile recorder

I love Console 1 and have never been interested in mapping due to its clunkiness. However, this solution has me curious, looks excellent. Thanks for your video and music. I hope to see you back in Scotland sometime in the future.

Found this today while I was looking for particular songs to listen to again. Dunno how I missed it, but that looks like a great setup, easier than having to use a mouse all the time. I especially like the zooming in, yes, what is that drum clip named..hmmm... 😁

This is incredible. I’ve never heard of this until I saw you mention it on another video. This is a game changer. I’m curious if it would work for older Daw controllers too (original faderport..) that softube is really intriguing especially now it can be optimized for reaper.

Wow, I have a console 1 and I am very familiar with ReaLearn (which is awesome), but I didn't know this was possible. How do you switch from controlling the normal console 1 environment to doing ReaLearn functions? Can you post the thread that has the ReaLearn Scripts for this? Can you share the ReaLearn configuration?

please do you have a video on how to do this step by step? I just bought console 1 and console 1 fader and decided to migrate from protools to reaper because console 1 integrates semalessly with reaper and, to make console one controll every other plugin I have would be getting the most out of it, plase is there a toturial on this, is so awesome.

I found a way to make it work, I just killed the Softube Console 1 display app in the monitor activity, then I unplugged Console 1 and plugged it again, and all the led are on, that means it's on MIDI mode and now I can use it again like MIDI remote controler

Hey Tycho, I am setting up my midi device to work "in banks" like yours, but can't seem to work out what target I should map to a source on my controller? Would you use the Mapping group, main preset or the helgoland presets for that, and how do you assign them? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

After further investigation it looks like you have the mappings stored as fx chains and not presets in helgoland, is that correct?

if you aren't using realearn you need to create a custom action with the "skip next action if" operators in there to split between increment and decrement. forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=53274

I did the same on Cubase Pro 13 with Console 1 MK2. I could control a SSL Channel Strip 2 or whatever I want (I made de video). But it worked until I saw the console 1 was disconnected in the Softube Central (in parameters ilok Service Details). Once I fixed this I lost the midi remote... If someone has an idea ho to switch from one to another mode.

Yes it works with Cubase 13, just kill the app in the Activity Monitor unplug and plug again. Now it's Midi remote controler

How are you getting around the midi resolution being in increments of 3 without pressing the fine adjust button?

Hello! I have mapped all the buttons including the input - output vumeters and I made my own chains, but I cannot map more than 20 channels. I can scroll through them using track + - buttons but I can't figure out how can I map track 21 for example (as it works with the Softube application). Do you have any ideas? Thanks!
