Love the great idea. I built a tray for my Console 1, now to build a faceplate and attach it to the top of the shelf 👍🏽 thanks for the idea

For people who don't want to cut their original power supply connector, there's always the option of getting a right angle barrel connector adapter for dc fans, or pedal board power (just be sure to not get the l6 adapter as that will reverse the polarity).

Great video BTW! I appreciate that you do videos about whatever you may be doing in the studio at that time, even if it may only be of interest to a relatively small number of people. In this case Console 1 owners and the C1 curios. Thanks for putting in the effort.

Thanks so much, yeah I know these are ultra specific videos but it is something fun to put out there! I’m just always thinking of these little creative solutions so it’s just been fun for me to share them

@@TrueSoundTV Well I appreciate it. And speaking of ultra specific..... I've seen many videos, and series of videos on Console 1. None really capture the Workflow and Flexibility and Speed and Power that C1 enables. There's 8 full channel strip emulations now. Plus dozens of Softube & UA "Console 1 Ready" plugins. And beyond the obvious Hardware Control and OSD, it's essentially a plugin slot housing 6-plugins (loadable sections) in a modular, re-routable, Channel Strip layout . Just the 8, times 6 component parts, is 48 Channel Strip variations, before you start re-ordering the three middle sections. The Drive & Character section alone is worth the price of admission. Swap the Shape section to the full Softube Transient Shaper, and those 4 knobs unleash an insane amount of control over every source, before you even touch EQ or Compression. I feel like Console 1 offers soooo much power, it even goes over the heads of people who've owned the system for years. AND, since I bought it when it first came out for $1000 with only the 4K emulation, every year they make that initial investment even more valuable! Half of the features it has today weren't there when I bought it. So basically I think that the system is seen as a gimmick or a nice to have toy, rather than what it really does bring to the table. And I attribute that misunderstanding to the long list of reviews out there that focus on showing features, bells and whistles, without actually showing the workflow and what control it affords you, once you learn how to use it. Load it across a 32, 64-Track session and just use the I/O Levels, Panning, & Width. Then just the Filters, Drive, & Shape sections. The mix is Already in an amazing place and you haven't touched dynamics or equalization yet. And for those you have dozens of options, across every channel and bus in your session. I like you work Hybrid, so I see Console 1 as an extension of my Analog Consoles and Outboard. So my request to you... Give us the Ultimate Console 1 Workflow series. Both for ITB and Hybrid workflows. How do you setup and then work through your mixing sessions? What's your process? How do you choose emulations? How do you integrate the Analog Emulations with the actual Analog gear? ??? I think what you and your Chann bring to the KZbinz is an actual User Experience, rather than "review" videos of the latest hot-right-now Gizmotron 3000 click-bait snake-oil nonsense. So what say you?

Can you share the sizes of circuit boards for Console 1 / Console 1 Fader? I wonder, if mounted together, would they take 8U, or if it could be possible to make a common 7U faceplate for two of them...

Excellent video! The Low Frequency knob on my Console 1 suddenly stopped working. The shaft turns fine but the on-screen display doesn’t receive any information. The LED indicator on the hardware doesn’t move either. All of my other knobs are working fine. If I unscrew the plate like you did, will I be able to access the wiper of the potentiometer to try to clean it or fix it. Have you ever experienced that? If not, is there any other reason you can think of why the knob might not be working?

Pretty cool…wouldn’t you want to have the fader under the console? Thinking about getting the fader, I guess you like it enough to make these modifications….

Yeah I have had the console one for about five years now. It is quite literally my most used and favorite plug-in. About a year ago I got the fader and kind of went back-and-forth whether I wanted to use it in my set up. Currently I just use the fader for my drum tracks, my SSL X-Desk as my main mixer, which is the reason why that’s up front!

Let us know if you get any wonky behavior now that you removed the shield around the boards by removing the box. I’ve been interested in doing the same.

Yeah at first I did question whether or not there would be some sort of interference especially with other gear being so close. So far I haven’t had a single issue with either one.
@G_handle
@G_handle 2 жыл бұрын
@@TrueSoundTV That's great. It may not Need all that shielding as it's basically a USB keyboard and there's obviously no Audio running through it. Possibly they built em like tanks just for durability. But Some USB devices do get Wonky without being shielded. Old monitors used to make the original Faderport go crazy as an example.
