It's respect. Nobody who grew up with games and liked them works in movies,somehow,so they're going to make a movie they think is cool instead of this stupid new agey kid's toy shit or whatever they dismiss games as. It's the opposite of something like Birdman,where everyone in the industry thinks stage is some kind of purist holy land just because it's been grandfathered in so hard. By that logic a movie about Michael Keaton telling stories over cave paintings would sweep the Oscars.

in order: mortal kombat, no idea on teh car one, Doom, no idea what the monster and teens was, CGI one is as far as I know the final Fantasy movie with nothing to do with Final fantasies, Dead or Alive, Tomb Raider, Blood rayne, still no clue on the car one, Prince of persia, Silent Hill, one of the Resident Evils probably 3rd or later one, Steer Fighter, Still n oclue on the car.

Uwe Bol hasnt helped the Gaming to Film genre. Also, Video game movies are just cut scenes and CTE's that you cannot control!

pradeep kanchan that's why I think that if they're going to do films on video games, try games that aren't so gameplay driven like Tomb Raider and Hitman. Why not something like Heavy Rain or Life Is Strange? But even then, what would be the point since both are already mostly cinematic because of their cutscenes
