It's just because it's the Happy Home Paradise island. You won't be able to modify and interact with the environment so it's useless to have fruits in the trees

There also isn't a single bug or fish in the video. That suggests to me that they turned off fruits bugs and fish for the sake of making demo footage. Like that island he goes to with the climbing vines and new plants. Why wouldn't there be bugs and fish there? Now that's no garuntee its new bugs and fish, but for sure they'll be bugs and fish of the time the island is. So if you missed a couple summer bugs, you can just find a summer island.

I noticed villagers doing new animations so like using a little trowel, the floating on the ocean, etc. ALSO I noticed that the "iron hanging shelf" they featured in the hanging stuff from the ceiling announcement appears pink and white in one of the interior examples. Could it be that some of the pre-existing items are going to have new customization options? Perhaps the iron series we pick a color for the iron and a color for the wood? :O

Haven’t recovered from even the ladders. Vertical mazes, vertical cul de sacs, towers, tree houses making a come back. Easily accessible sunken areas. Multilevel libraries, gardens, etc. Wow never noticed those details! Oh i did notice that cave. I’m expecting it’s a new item. Glad to see your face full screen Caito!

No one has mentioned Paths! I think there's going to be about 2-3 more added based on the fact that the sand from HHP is much lighter than the sand we currently have in game and there's a new desert biome that may come with a new path option too.

SwitchForce made a video with all of the items showing in the trailers and according to him, Nintento has veifierd that all of the items in Happy Home Paradise will also be avaliable on our islands. So you will get your cave, and I will get the beautiful big bonsai-esque tree for my upcoming Japan themed island!

Unfortunately I have a hankering suspicion that the reason those trees don't have coconuts is because they're set pieces and not shakeable trees. That being said, I do believe we're in store for more fruits.....there are VISIBLE lemons in some of the recipe photos.

On the screen where it showed selecting the recipe, it showed tabs across the top - the one that was selected was "Savory". Next to it was a little pie icon, so I think there will be Sweet and Savory at the very least. The fruit would definitely be needed for those recipes! Another little recipe icon showed a fish dish, so that brings in a whole other realm of ingredients as well.

Not sure if it's just a fixture of Harv's plaza but excited to see all the NPCs have rugs on the ground, outside! Totally fine if it doesn't happen but the direct had me like 👀 Also noticed some new wallpapers - the window/trees one (in different shades in both the US and Japan direct - I think a white and a grey?) as well as the barn-looking one with bricks/wooden planks overlay.

You mentioned the sticks in the water, I noticed those too and also hoped they would be something we could do but I too kinda doubt it, BUT.. did you notice in that same shot, there's the suspension bridge, except much darker brown than the ones we can get? Honestly the first one makes perfect sense... at the beginning of the game you could only get certain fruit (like coconuts) by visiting mystery islands, and now that we have new mystery islands to explore with Capp'n, it makes perfect sense that there would be new fruit trees! They wouldn't want to show everything, they gotta leave some suspense. As for the rivers/stairs, I think it's just part of the HHP set up but I could be wrong

I am going to set my expectations a bit low and assume the lack of fruit on trees/beach stairs/logs in water all the cute special things on the HHP islands are because its not the main island. Like we can design outside of buildings the way we design inside as well so I am guessing there will be no fruit to harvest, etc, on the island itself. Would be soooo exciting to be wrong though!

I’m still in shock from the direct, I’ve watched it so many time. I’m so excited! Things I noticed, the really really tall palm tree, palm trees being planted on grass, 4th level has trees and bushes on it, there is a sneaky shot at the end that makes it look like resident services is on a second level?? We can mist plants now!? Those are things I noticed! I have so many questions and I can’t wait till the update!

One detail I saw that I haven't seen anyone mention yet is that Katrina's fortune telling table is sitting on a magic-circle rug. It's a bit of a stretch, but maybe we will be able to place rugs outside? This has been one of my most wanted features. I've used so many of my designs slots for outdoor rugs haha.

I suspect the intention with the resort hub is that like Harv’s island, it isn’t meant to be a place where you can use tools or harvest resources. I think this is why none of the palm trees have coconuts, just because they are meant to be decorative. Some of the palm trees in this area are also taller than normal, which I think also suggests that they are intended for atmosphere rather than item gathering. I also don’t think we’ve seen any fish swimming in the water of this hub area for similar reasons.

This may have been mentioned already but speaking about the coconuts not being on the trees. If you look at the HHP bit the “coconut” trees that are on the grass area are actually taller than the coconut trees on the beach. They look it to me anyway, they seem to be taller than the buildings. I just went back and checked again, it’s not all of them but the tree next to lotties building looks taller…or am I crazy?? Lol

Not only were there no coconuts on those trees, I'm pretty sure on both the new mystery islands and the happy home paradise island, the palm trees are on the grass without sand placed down where they're planted. Either that means we'll be able to now plant palm trees on grass, or these are, as you said, new fruit trees, and they can be planted on the grass like all the other trees except for the coconut ones.

I think the archipelago will just be similar to Harv's island where you can't actually interact with or change any of the items/surroundings. So the sticks in the water are probably just decoration, and you probably can't harvest any fruit on the island which is why there are no coconuts.

I would love to see Bougainvillea, Cyclamates, and climbing Roses. I also love Weeping Willows. You can make all kinds of ropes and furniture from the hanging branches. The flowers I mentioned could be planted by a cliff, a building, or a fence. It would be beautiful! I agree, bananas, dates, figs, could all come from beach trees. I saw cactus as well, I wonder if we’ll harvest anything from them.

I think the windmill could easily be different than the one shown on Harv’s Island. Harv’s is more farm-style compared to the other Nook Miles items and looks very central/important to the new plaza. This style of windmill is also commonly referred to as a windpump. City Folk and New Leaf both had large brick windmills you could place in your town. I was pretty sad they weren’t in New Horizons actually, the wind turbines don’t cut it for me :( So I’m hoping for either type of windmill at this point. Maybe we’ll get both? 🤞🏻
