The star on the tootsie pop wrapper meant you got a free one when I was a kid! It was a thing in Oregon growing up, for sure and all of us kids knew it! I’m 30 now, so this was in the early 2000’s when I was a kid and Every single time we got a star we would be so stoked and run down the street to our local market it was called “Steve’s market” the owners name was Steve lol but plaid pantry was close to us and they did it too those were the closest stores to us like walking distance so we would book it down and get a free one! EVERY single time. I’m shook.

So Mythbusters DID determine that there was technically enough room on the door for both Rose and Jack, BUT they would have had to balance their weight just right, and Rose would have had to think to remove her life vest and manage to float it under the door to give them enough buoyancy to stay far enough out of the water to avoid hypothermia. So while they technically COULD have both survived, the odds of them figuring it out fast enough in freezing conditions after just surviving a sinking ship were almost nonexistent.

The "rumor" for me, when I was a kid, was that you had to collect a certain amount of Tootsie Pops labels with stars on them and then send them in to the manufacturer to get your free Tootsie Pops. I grow up in the 80's and saved a shit load of those labels. Never sent them in hahaha! My mom wasn't giving me an envelope and a stamp. It was the 80's. I can't even remember if there was a mailing address to even send them to.

That girl in the shower resonated with me hardcore. I had roommates and came home one night so drunk I went in the shower, sat down, and passed out for 6 hours!!!! NO ONE checked on me either. When I woke up to freezing cold water. Every single wall in my rooms upstairs where water stained. I agree with her. How do you just leave someone up there and not check to see if they were okay. By the way, I have been sober for over 20 years. LOL And Ryland holding the dress up for everyone to see on his phone it couldn't get anymore black and blue.

BTW Shane, this is by FAR my favorite podcast. You all are so funny, so likeable, so different from one another. Most of all, you guys are all good people. I know I don't know you all in person, but I am a very good judge of character. It's really my only talent lol. Also, I have been watching Shane for... my gosh, since like 2006. Never doubted you for a second Shane. Dark humor is meant to give that shock value, while not taking itself too seriously. I have found that most people that have dark humor, are actually the best kind of people in their real lives. Especially when a lot of them use dark humor towards a really awful human being. Take the iDubbs and Tana situation as a great example. Tana is not a good person, and she cares only for herself. Watching iDubbs mess with her, was insanely entertaining. You know, the people who think real dark thoughts, but seem like good people on the outside, and don't use dark humor...Those are the ones that are usually awful people. They hide it as much as possible. Sorry for rambling...😅

It always annoys me when people say Rose killed Jack because I always remembered him trying to get on the door with her but it would keep sinking down when he would and it wasn’t able to hold them both up. I fact checked myself before commenting to be extra sure and that’s exactly what happened. Also, another man tried to get on the door with her but Jack said “no, there is just enough room for this lady”.

They prob weren’t thinking too much into the details of it and prob thought it looked like Jack legit died and that Rose was convinced in the plot. That’s just my theory..

Thank you! People get so hung up on the whole "There was room on the door!" argument, but they always forget the fact that buoyancy played a bigger factor than surface area. YES, there was 'room' for both of them on the door. BUT, if they both got on it, the door would sink. They both would have been sitting in the water, and they BOTH would have frozen to death. Also, Jack's body sinking was literally just a cool dramatic shot for the movie. Rose had to let go to save herself, and Jack disappeared into the depths with the Titanic. It was cinematic and symbolic. It wasn't supposed to get any deeper than that. The couple of bubbles were just a little goof because Leo was obviously alive while filming, and it's hard to hold your breath that long.

@@singingwolf8997the bubbles coming back up could have literally been any little air pocket too that was in clothing or escaping his body with the pressure of the water. If they didn’t want the bubbles they could have easily edited that out but they left it because even if gone air trapped anywhere can still bubble up if you’re already deceased
