Today we take a look at 2 Police Constables who had a report of a Man Filming and Flying a Drone on an Industrial Estate in Deeside.
They ask about the Operators ID and the Weight but then make a few comments which riled the situation up a little so I have my turn.
Should we be able to pick fault with them, just like they do to us? Damn Right we should!

Wearing the standard issue police leather gloves could have been construed as intimidating. In fact, the police were very polite and professional.

He hasn't got a warrant card because he is not a sworn constable, he is an officer of the police force and does not have the power of arrest although they do all the time. If you ever go to court and the arresting constable doesn't show their warrant card, the judge will know the arrest is unlawful and should tell the office off and discharge the charge, if he is straight that is.

That's exactly what it was, a veiled threat, and he made it because in this situation he was made to feel pretty powerless. He was dealing with someone who knew their rights and who was unmoved by the "power" of a Police uniform, so he felt the need to flex to get his sense of power back. It's a real shame that we have Officers like that who don't have the self awareness to resist the psychological effects of a uniform and a bit of authority. Really bad. This is one of the first UK films ive seen showing police wrongdoing. But to have no outer clothing ID or a warrant card, and to acost a member of the public, and to keep trying to interact after he has been told not to, is very shocking. Come on guys, lets not go down the same road as the US. That male cop could have been anyone dressed up, It was a good job the police lady was there. Im a woman, if he had come up to me in the dark with no epelet numbers or warrant card ID, in the dark, I would have been terrified. Thank you for highlighting this.
