By the way mate, I reckon you handled that one really nicely: no combat, no raised voices, and a decent man continues in his job without a blemish on his character. It's already quite hard enough finding out you were wrong, as every single viewer here knows. The sergeant was also very diplomatic and came across as a man of integrity. Absolutely first class, and I feel sure as I think you did that the PCSO is a very sound, decent man whose only fault was that he hadn't encountered the photography situation before. A highly unreasonable expectation in such a front facing job to not expect to be filmed/photographed. Bordering on ridiculous to routinely ask those who do to delete it. So much so, that you could have a public profile such as the officers detailed on the notice board. How you could expect or 'prefer' not ot be recorded in that role is unbelievable with the amount of personal cameras today. Maybe a role that is less public-facing would be more suitable for him.

@@ianhill4585 Hi Ian, yeah I'm familiar with the Stanford experiment. It's not quite as clear cut as Milgram's as one the 'guards' now says he deliberately 'heated things up' to get the desired result - apparently he'd seen 'Cool Hand Luke' and used that as his basis.

@@TheHookahSmokingCaterpillar interesting,I hadn't heard of the "guards" account, puts a different spin maybe on events, raises questions, how much influence on the other guards did that guard have? Was it a case of monkey see monkey do? Social proofing in action? Maybe a future debate, I'm getting weary now. All the best Hookah.

@@ianhill4585 He had a huge effect, he was the instigator and ring leader. However, this is what he says now, it doesn't quite chime with interviews I've seen that he gave not long after the experiment. Like I said, the results were questionable. Milgram's were more conclusive.

The eyes can't lie, and when that segeant stepped out of his car and looked at the PCSO you could see him thinking "OMG, what shit has this idiot got me involved with here" Overall this station came out of the audit fairly well. Interactions all polite, and no handy, handy agression by police. Areas of concern...lack of training to PCSO and the wearing of a gang badge by a sergeant. My rating therefore is a B+. Another great job by DJ Audits!

It's always hilarious that people that do not want to be recorded always walk up to the person who's recording and continually ask them to stop recording them when all they need to do is turn around and walk away. This shows you it's all about power comma then perceiving that they have more power than you and therefore they can tell you to go and do something that they could easily do themselves. These people are seconding and need to go on a course.

It's appalling they ask people to delete footage, because vulnerable people would, which could potentially delete incriminating evidence against those who asked the footage to be deleted.

You hit the nail on the head in this one: *THIS IS WHERE TYRANNY STARTS.* *) PEOPLE THINK AND PERCEIVE THAT HE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO TELL THEM NOT TO RECORD AND TO DELETE IF THEY HAVE. And from there on these buggers they like and then LOVE the imagined power they have over the public, THE INNOCENT LARABIDING PUBLIC going around MINDING IT´S OWN *LAWFUL* BUSINESS ! *) And notice he isn´t even a real policeman.

I once got attacked on the street by a road rage driver. I flagged down the nearest officer and they waved me off telling me to just go to the police station, it was closed. There was an call for assistance button, i pressed it and they had me on a phone hold message for 15 minutes and then cut me off. The person that attacked me got away with it. The message I got was you can attack people on the street dut don't you dare say mean things on face book.

The funniest of it was when the old age pensioners compleated a vault robbery a few years back, they drilled a hole into the vault and stole millions, the police gimmicked on how easy it was to catch the robbers due to modern technology such as purchasing bus tickets with their credit cards or cctv recording.. What they forgot to point out was that this was evidence that was picked up after the robbery had taken place...they never saw them arrive, drill holes in walls, they foiled the alarm systems and left with the loot without any notice..it was only their age and the lack of understanding modern technology that got them AFTER the job was done...it is infact the plod that look like muppets in that case..to be fair cops had FA to go on and were just lucky...

You must remember that PCSO is not attested is not a constable and dies not hold a warrant. Basically he’s just another bloke in the street. As such he can ask what he wishes as we all can but there is no authority given to him or a warranted officer to delete footage. It’s your footage to do as you will with.

You're a fab auditor. You're absolutely right. If an officer, pcso or otherwise, asks members of the public to do something to which they are not obliged to do, is in fact a big issue. They are indirectly absuing their position by using their uniform to enforve their subjective feelings. #PINAC.

@@135Ops this isn't actually anything to do with the law per say smarty pants. This is to do with an person of authority, asking someone to do something, which to be quite Frank- has nothing to do with them. If somebody wants to record someone else in a public setting - then people need to back off and let them because it is a lawful activity. Learn some common sense you doughnut.
