Constant Playfulness with Albino Baby Elephant, Khanyisa & The Hose! ☀️

Adine greets the herd before checking in at the orphanage, and watches Mambo on the mound with Jabulani, playing together. The two bulls get on well, even with their age difference - Jabulani was born in 1997 (24 years old now) and Mambo in 2009 (12 years). They share their section of the homestead at night with Lundi.
Tokwe, Fishan and the youngsters stay alongside them, and like to visit Khanyisa at the fence around the orphanage.
Khanyisa is full of beans this morning and finds endless opportunities to play! She tosses around her hose pipe and thrashes about in the bushes, giving Tokwe and her daughters, Limpopo and Pisa a good show!
She hears Stavros coming a mile away with her morning bottles and rush to meet him! She downs her milk fast, which is always such a joy to see!
Stavros and Willinton try to repair the hose after discovering Khanyisa has taken it apart with all her playing, but the team are quick to put it back together again. All’s fair in love and playtime!

Such a joy and privilege to watch her grow in real time. She is so much less baby like anymore. It hurts sometimes to look at her scars. You all did a great job with healing her wounds, both physical, and, one assumes, mental. But how anymore can put a snare on a baby and then just leave them there to die a slow and horrible death totally mystifies me. As does, of course, the murdering for tusks. Tbh, I can't think about it too much. Thank goodness for angels like you all. Khanyisa's great healing is a testament your great work and great hearts ❤❤❤

I live in a dry part of the USA, where rain is welcome when Mother Nature remembers we're here. It's also winter and currently (6:50am) 22F/-6C, but we'll warm up a little today. Maybe there is now snow on the mountains which will fill the Rio Grande in the Spring melt. Every morning I watch a world weather map to check what I can expect here but also to see that South Africa is still enjoying rain. I like viewing the distant clouds in the videos, too!
