Its a show don't tell, there is a bit of exposure but really a minimal amount to not have the audience lost completly. And for the rest, its a bit a mixed bag of everything that people knows about folklore and supernatural through stories. We know for a while now that in ancient times Cats where regarded as the Guardians of the underworld by Egyptians and other cultures, so the scene with teh cat doesn't need much for some with more thna 5 braincells to go "Oh yeah right make sens" In the end its quite smart, cause the Cosmology of the movie is as much "cannon" as it can be AND Headcannon, with each putting its own layer above it cause of what we know about the occult.

@@nbartlett6538 The script for Constantine 2 is finished. While a sequel to 2005’s Constantine has been discussed for many years, the project officially got off the ground in 2022 when it was reported that Warner Bros. was finally moving forward on the project. Keanu Reeves is expected to reprise his role as John Constantine, while Francis Lawrence is returning as director.

Dear Cassie = I am highly impressed. This movie throws a lot of people, leaving them at the end thinking "What did miss? That made no sense." But you kept up with every plot twist blow-for-blow. You've come a very long way in a few short years. At this rate I give it a year before you become a movie-psychic, reliably predicting twists before they happen.

I've thought this before, that she would have had an even bigger career if she didn't do the American accent so often. She has such a nice voice in her native accent but when she goes American it becomes an annoying drawl. America is the melting pot. She could play an American cop with a British accent, it doesn't matter. In fact she did another movie with Keanu (worth watching for this channel) with her British accent. She plays a researcher in an American university and it's perfectly normal to have a British accent, no one said "this is 'Merica, you better speak 'Merican for this movie."

The thing that John removed from his friend's neck was an amulet of protection of sorts. It prevented him from having his visions for starters, but also prevented people like Balthazaar from being able to affect him like he ultimately did. He needed him to have his visions though, because he sensed that something was coming, and it would have protected Angela if she'd kept it around her neck instead of accidently leaving it in the car.

John Constantine is a former punk rocker and a magic wielder and exorcist, doomed to hell for cheating the Devil. He first appeared in the Swamp Thing comics, of the late 80s, and in the pages of John Constantine HELLBLAZER thru the 90s and early 2000s. The end Boss was Lucifer, played by Peter Stormare. LUCIFER , in the comics, would abandon Hell to Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, and take up residence on Earth He had a good run with his FOX/Netflix series. Constantine would return for a couple seasons of his own series on NBC, and as a regular on most seasons of CW's Legends of Tomorrow. On both shows he was played by Matt Ryan

Swamp Thing 37 (Constantine's first appearance) was June 1985 so almost _exactly_ the _mid_ 80s :). But yep, "Hellblazer" itself started in 1988, so _late_ 80s in that case.

I think you point out really well during the bath/drowning scene "is this a twist?". I think it's been done really well up to the that point that everything John has done so far that she has seen could have been a con. The boiling water, the smoking jacket, all happened while she was out of the room. Classic trickery of the fraudster, the exorcist, the medium.
