Constantine - Papa Midnite's NightClub (HD)

Upon attempting to speak with former witch-doctor turned owner of a nightclub that serves as neutral ground for half-breeds; Papa Midnite (Djimon Honsou) about this attack, he is rebuffed and dismissed. Constantine, with the help of his associates Beeman (Max Baker), Hennessy (Pruitt Taylor Vince), and Chas, begins investigating the situation.

This movie just hits me in the freaky nerve like no other. It's not that it's a crazy good story or incredible acting or any of that. It's just the premise that normal life we all see has an evil backstory. A world behind the world. That demons and angles could be among us and we'd never know. Teachers, construction workers, priest, all these normal daily people in our life could be hiding a secret. And the vision of hell with the souls trapped with time stopped....like he said, two minutes in hell is a lifetime.

"Papa Midnight" looks like he is supposed to be an amalgamation of "Papa Legba" and "Baron Samedi". Papa Legba is the voodoo guardian of the crossroads between the human realm and the spirit world. Baron Samedi is the lwa of death/grave/cemetery, he is also usually found at the crossroads between the dead and the living and is often called upon to facilitate communication between those two realms.
