The late 900s to the early 1000s was really Byzantium at its best outside of Maurice and Justinian's reign.

@@justinianthegreat1444 No. At that point, they were just flip-flopping between helping the Crusaders and sabotaging them. There was no honor or righteousness there. Just them patching up a sinking ship with rivets and duct tape.

@@HolyknightVader999 Rome during the Komnenian period was still great, when did they sabotage the crusaders? Manuel even married a Crusader princess and held a great level of power over them.

I am in greece right now, went to a few byzantine museums. You would be surprised but honestly Byzantine/Roman Artwork/Building/Pottery its all the same nothing changed. The only thing changed is the paintings of christ vs Statues.

After he ascended as the new Autokrator, why Constantine VII did not improve the relations between the Roman Empire and the Khazar Khaganate? What stopped him from doing so? Plus, this means improving the relations with the Jews that reside with the Empire as well.

Sorry man but nobody really had a high opinion of Jews in that time
@lerneanlion
@lerneanlion 10 ай бұрын
@@hopeundertheblacksun I know that. But the strategic alliance with the Khazars are also important. But just like the Bulgarians, the Rus' are not always on the friendly terms with the Romans. So it is better to have someone to help in this matter. In this case, preventing the Rus' from coming to Constantinople when the relations between the Romans and Rus' go soured.

Berengar was married with Anna Augusta, the daughter of Emperor Leon VI, and widow of Louis l'Aveuglé, King of Italy and occidental emperor901-905 . This could explain why Berengar was trying to meddle with byzantine politics ?¡¿
