One question I have with procedurally generated planets... will the flora and fauna on each planet, which expectedly to be procedurally generated, be completely different? It will not make sense that flora and fauna from different planets to be identical. I'm of course talking about indigenous/native ones, and not counting those which are transplanted/migrated by other spacefaring creatures. Also, have there been mentioning of other sentient Alien races which we'll interact with?
@NavidIsANoob2 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the main story line is about the discovery of intelligent alien life.
@irecordwithaphone1856 Жыл бұрын
I can give a good comparison that might help. No Man's Sky has 18 quintillion planets, and has flora/fauna on many different planets by using an extreme amount of procedural generation. They have a bunch of different assets and mix and match them to form creatures and plant life. It results in a lot of variations, but after a while you'll definitely see the same assets showing up just changed with color/size Important to note that No Man's Sky does this while having to manage 18 quintillion planets, an incomprehensibly large number. Starfield has only around 1000 planets. Using procedural generation and a good number of assets, Bethesda could easily pull this off. I would be shocked if not I have tons of hours in No Man's Sky and even I have found new things. It's become a lot more rare, but I still come across new stuff sometimes. That's with 18 quintillion planets, where the algorithm practically has to be watered down eventually for it to work The game Spore did something similar with much less planets, but the tech was limited by the times. In 2023, Bethesda has some pretty capable technology at their disposal for 1000 planets

Welcome to Bethesda Game Studios, we'll be lucky if half of the stuff they talk about ends up being real
@Rainbow_Crash692 жыл бұрын
@@ElFenixNocturno Na, what Bethesda says always ends up being fulfilled. In the worst case I would call it "half truths" because that is what they are, not the total of what they promise but something approximate. Fallout 3 didn't have 200 endings but rather 174 variants due to side quests if I'm not mistaken, in skyrim you can climb all mountains but that's due to collision issues and the pretty bad physics engine. It is not entirely its promises but a thousand times that I prefer this to Ubisoft with its terrible lies such as The Division and Watch Dogs, games that I like and I am a big fan of both but I cannot cover the sun with a finger.

The one thing I did not want to hear after fallout 4 "More Personal Story" NO I want to be a blank slate not chasing something that doesnt mean shit to me.
@Rainbow_Crash692 жыл бұрын
to be fair no bethesda game ever started out blank. We always have a context of why we are there. I feel that the only one that is 100% free is morrowind, but even its plot is limited by the problem of the nerevar, even daggerfall, which is its most hardcore role-playing game, put us in the context of an emperor's assistant. Able refers to the fact that the plot is going to be more personal because of what was seen in the trailers, that we are able to be "connected to the artifacts" but I highly doubt that it will be like Fallout 4, they have already repeated many times in various interviews that they are not they wanted to repeat those same mistakes.

I have never been as much hyped by any game before, but I am really praying for a 60FPS mode on Xbox.
@MrXchannel5372 жыл бұрын
I’m assuming it’s gonna be 1080p60fps on performance and 1440p30fps on quality
@Noctury_Gaming2 жыл бұрын
@lifewithrob512 yeah, 40FPS would be a minimum for HDMI 2.1 screens with VRR enabled
@Noctury_Gaming2 жыл бұрын
@@MrXchannel537 whatever they do I need those frames, I will take anything in order to get a performance mode 🙏 They could even push a high resolution mode with an unlocked and unstable framerate for VRR screens and I would be set with the Series X / LG C1
@MrXchannel5372 жыл бұрын
@@Noctury_Gaming I’m with you lol, I rather play 1080p60fps than higher resolutions with 30 fps, but that’s my prediction seen size and scope of the game, also I would not be surprised if the game is 200gb lol

I love how Starfield seems to be taking a lot of the things that No Mans Sky promised but never delivered (or did several years later) and actually giving it to us but in a better overhauled way and with the beloved Bethesda style. I can't wait for this I'm also hoping after this we can finally get Elder Scrolls 6 in a few years

@Charlie B Well, you sound like a winner.
@JonNye_2 жыл бұрын
this is due to one and only two reasons: 1° Starfield is a AAA game from a Big company different from No man Sky. 2nd Starfield is an RPG, with some Survival elements. Different from No Man Sky, which is totally a Survival game, which gained some RPG elements That's why this comparison doesn't even make sense except for some obvious similarities they share because they have the same theme. Only that.
@Werewolf9142 жыл бұрын
@Charlie B I didn't mean a few years as in exactly 3 I was thinking more like 4-5 years but not from today after they've released the game and patches and all that jazz

@@Werewolf914 I know that, I don't blame you. I think that part of the responsibility for this lies in the presentation itself, which forgets to show precisely the triumph of Bethesda games, which is the RPG.

I really like this method of procedural generation blending within quests. This kind of dynamic growth really excites me. Bethesda has always been the best at the vastness of the cohesive simulation. That is why I played Skyrim for a year, ~594 hrs, before I ever did the main quest. I still remember my best friend, who introduced me to TES with Morrowind, saying, "What's wrong with you"? To which I replied, "There's just so much to do". We had the biggest laugh.
