We the people OF THE UNITED STATES, in order to form a more perfect union. Why did they leave out "Of the United States" on here? We dont say "I pledge allegiance to the flag, and to the republic" during the our nations pledge. Well, i guess we could but it would be wrong. If you're going to learn it. Learn it right. Word for word.

Remember this video leaves a bit out: It's "We the people OF THE UNITED STATES, in order to form..." Don't leave out the "Of the United States" like they did. Your teacher might grade you down.

I memorized the Preamble in elementary school by listening to this. And then when I had to preform it in front of the class I actually sang it because that's how I remembered it. It was fantastic.

This really helped me memorize the preamble when I was in 8th grade for history class. I still know it today! If somebody were to ask me, I'd start singing this song in my head. But, hey, at least I know it!

Memories... In my Freshmen Social Class in the early 80's, we were talking about the US Constitution. I told my teacher I knew the beginning of it. She didn't believe me and called me out on it. I recited this song word for word (trying not to sing it). She had this look on her face I would never forget. It made me happy to know that listening to School House Rock on TV (and loving it) put some pretty useful things in my young mind.

It's been stuck in my head since I saw these on live TV as a kid...and I'm 41. I still sing rather than recite it to this day, so it CAN be done. Just remember there are 6 words missing from the song that are in the Preamble so slide 'em in at the beginning ("of the United States of America").

I personally love this song I t got me free from the 8th grade we had to memorize this para graph before. Monday the teacher made me choose or flunk out I asked a d cryed how am I gonna menorise and say this front of a classroom full of people. Saturday Morning. My little brother is watching. Cartoons. This song is great! But since many of you are studying for tests remember that the REAL preamble starts out with: "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union..." They leave out the "of the United States" in the song :)

Only problem is that it is missing the words "of the United States" after "We the People". Students in my class, like Barney Fife, are required to memorize it. However, I have to add those words every time I play/sing it for them.

I love this, I remember this on Saturday morning cartoons in the seventies and it was cool then and it is still cool to this day. The networks are frightened to show this to our youth so it is up to us to show it and tell our kids our rich American history.

The constitution gave the central government more power to take away freedom than it had before, not less. This is why they wrote the Bill of Rights, they were afraid that the government would become tyrannical because of the new power. It turns out that their fears were justified. The government is probably worse than even the drafters imagined.

I'm in 5th grade and my class had to study it , then a few days later we had a test on it, on the test we had to sing it say it or write it... I sang it and got 50/50 right! When I was in Jr High School and had to recite the Preamble in Social Studies, I actually sang it, it was how I had learned it so that's how I did it. Some of the kids thought it was lame but several were singing along with me. The teacher applauded. I grew up eagerly awaiting the newest episode every Saturday, it was always one of my favorite things about Saturday morning cartoons.

Actually they had to cross out things like slavery and such, so it didn't " keep people free". Moreover, the person who said '' All men are created equal", Thomas Jefferson, kept slaves. Also, in the video, it shows someone holding a sign for Alaska, which wasn't a state or even a US territory in till much later.
