Hey Alan, I just want to say thank you so much for your considerate help. Sorry to bother with this question, but I just had my paper two politics exam today and it was all going well but I looked at the wrong time and overestimated the time I had left. Meaning that I only got to to write the introduction for my political ideologies essay and I’m very worried of how detrimental this would be. Would this be a huge impact on my grade overall, even if I did well on paper one and perform well on paper three? Thank you Alan.

Hi Kellie, obviously not completing a question is not ideal. However it is only one question out of three papers so lots of other questions to make the marks up on. I'm sure that many other students will have done similar on at least one paper as timing is super tight on these papers. If you had loads to write on the other questions I'm sure you'll have scored well on those. It is really hard to know where grade boundaries will be this year but they should hopefully be generous. Fingers crossed it all works out ok!

abbreviations are fine if you put in brackets at the start e.g. Welsh Parliament (WP). that's what i do anyway

I recently gave my 9PLO A Level politics paper 1 on the 25th of May, I was severely behind on time so in the 24 marker, thinking it required less detail than the 30 markers, I wrote 3 agree points and 2 disagree points, I was rushing through, anxious, and feared leaving the answer incomplete without a conclusion would be worse than writing a third disagree point without a conclusion. I didn't write a ton of detail but I did mention at least 3 thinkers with an intro, 2 paragraphs and a conclusion, running with a clear line of argument from start to end. In your experience whats the max I could score with such a response?

Don't worry mate, so long as you wrote one set of really good paragraphs you can get a high grade because of the way these exams are marked.

if you had a clear argument, and 2 paragraphs with a range of thinkers this is still really good, a conclusion is also helpful to sum up your arguments and will leave the examiner with a well rounded response, don't stress I'm sure you did well :) you spent more time on the question with more marks which is a good thing, at least 24 marks is lower than 30 marks
