This is so fun to watch! I like the longer videos. I'm impressed with the quality of your raft, hopefully it will be as strong and durable as it looks! And thank you for sharing your story.

Weiter so.

Hello my cousin! Well done... I really like your construction! Be proud of it and enjoy floating away on your tent on a raft on a lake in sweden (formerly known as tent on an island in sweden) I‘m always looking forward to see your videos of your adventures! Rainer

Ich habe mich so für Dich gefreut als der Raft so schön auf dem See glitt..wie man so schön sagt: can't wait for your next video! Viele Grüße aus Bayern!!

This is so creative and awesome. I started to build my art studio / library over a year ago. The project stood still for many months because boring. But this spring and summer I found your channel and you really inspired me to continue renovation. So now I am painting the walls! 😄👍

Anyone reading this and considering it: Fill the barrels with Styrofoam, if you spring a leak the barrel will still offer some buoyancy.

If you put hydrofoil wings on it, you could lift the floats right out of the water when in motion and drastically reduce water drag making your outboard work less hard. But you would have to mount the engine on a transum that could be lowered as the raft raises out of the water on the hydrofoils.

MyNorthernStory I am making a mobile floating island Micronation in a sillier way. Except for I am making an aluminum frame coated in liquid rubber so that it doesn't rust in the ocean water. Then framing that aluminum frame around hundreds of 55 gallon barrels. Then I am putting down pond liner and covering that in compost and soil and grass seeds. And building vegetable gardens - fruit orchards and homes on it. And I am releasing chickens - rabbits - turkey's - goats - sheep - white tailed deer - minature dwarf cattle - lamas etc to keep the grass mowed and fertilized and to provide meat/milk/eggs/cheese/yogurt etc.

Wow, you really made quick work of it. You planned it very well, I would have had to make 100 trips to home depot (I am in the U.S.). Do you worry the wood will rot over time or is it treated?

Better not drop anything when you live on that raft. If you do, say bye- bye!! 😀😘

Very lovely to watch you and father create together this dream. Do you intend to tie the floats from under neath somehow? I am concerned they may pop out; do you get big waves that might cause this?
@kerstinonyeagusi14714 жыл бұрын
I thought of it, too.

It's finally materializing before our very eyes.. Yay! That said have you ever though of using this for plastic cleanup of water ways and oceans? You could probably get paid for saving sea life from plastic entanglement and bringing in waste plastic to be properly disposed of.

Did you ever thought about sharp front part of the raft?
@catscattying4 жыл бұрын
Did you/will you strap the barrels to the frame?
@s-t-f4 жыл бұрын
I think you should really think about every single screw you put in: What happens, if the wood there really gets wet and soft? Will it still hold? That is especially problematic when screwing on top of the boards. So your diagonals could maybe fall off in that case. That's why those metal parts are a good idea, because you screw from the side of the wood where it will stay dry longer.
@MyNorthernStory4 жыл бұрын
It's all impregnated wood that's made to get wet.
