This location is not good for a shopping complex. Spanish Town needs a modern ground provision market and an adjacent modern transport center. This would be the ideal location for what I am advocating. Spanish Town is a economic hob between north western Jamaica and the capital Kingston. The roads to be used for this development is totally inadequate. That must be addressed for that complex to be in demand by vendors. The municipality is failing in this regard as they have no plans for Spanish Town economic development.

Congrats to everyone including the developer

As far as we know, it's a commercial complex. These seem to be the hot kind of development in Jamaica, where aspects of indoor and outdoor malls are combined to make something quite elaborate. With any luck, this development too will be going the same route. Every massive development like this should come with an upgrade to the surrounding environments. Something should be done about the ramshackle houses on the other side of the road with those butt ugly zinc fences.
@drivinginjamaica8 ай бұрын
They probably will build a wall re thr houses on the side. The entrance seems to be on the side facing the main road

St Catherine has a lotta flat that's ripe for development . With that amount of development ,I hope they have enough tradesmen to do the work . Mr Holiness is doing a good job .
@SiuolNotrab8 ай бұрын
It would be better Leave the flats for agricultural production and build concrete structures in the hills where agricultural lands doesn't exist.

Not.only St Catherine. All.of Jamaica being developed.

Enough land for all industries. Bernard Lodge is a good example

Just like Drax Hall, this road needs to be upgraded before this commercial complex officially kicks off. With a development THIS large, one can only imagine the traffic this will attract. This plot of land was a bunch of discarded metal trash, weedy plants and intense flooding before this started getting developed. This is for all the people who keep saying Jamaica is tearing down its ecosystem to build all its structures to take note. This was basically a landfill, but without the obvious stink!!
@drivinginjamaica8 ай бұрын
Yep. The road needs upgrading.

Govt is doing an excellent job to facilitate the environment to allow those with massive capital to invest. It’s a win win for the country and to the economy. We cannot allow partisan politics to ruin our potential of becoming a first world country. It is time us Jamaicans to support a the govt that have either proven to lift us up closer or can get us quicker to a prosperous future.

They should start making malls it’s more modern
@the-development-scribbler8 ай бұрын
...maybe with a grain of salt. Indoor malls as we know them are slowly closing down globally, so maybe more outdoorsy malls are the way to go.
