More impressed at how he squats like that for hours. I’d never get back up.

Overall, you did a good job. However, you did something that alot of guys do. You started out using a lot more larger stone on the left and as you moved to your right it looks like you ran out of larger stones and only used what was remaining which were the smaller stones. This creates uneven visual weight. Then, it looks like you got another load of rock and did a better job mixing up the different sizes. Maybe moving from right to left towards the end helped out. Suggest stepping back every 8-10 stones and taking an inventory of your remaining stock to make sure you are keeping your stonewirk visually balanced. But, overall, a good job.

Do we have an idea of what he's using for the base? Is it cement, mortar?
@bonanzatime2 жыл бұрын
It looks like parged cement/mortar.
@kimkerchner20323 жыл бұрын
Great job. He is probably using a mortar mix that is commercial grade S.

If I tried this here in the California, the cement, mortar or whatever it is, would start drying up before I could get all the stones in place. I'd have to mortar up on section, set the stones and then go back to mortar. I don't know how they kept it so firm yet wet for this long.

Can we stick these kind of stones from tile bond? Someone told me to collect stones from river side and stick them with tile bond. I am thinking to make one wall of my lawn with this design.
