Comparison of vintage LEGO, current LEGO, and Fisher-Price Construx building experiences for someone with hand pain and/or dexterity issues. Of course there's also the usual confusion of building (and rebuilding) a Construx set due to vague instructions, but see the final build of set number 586 and how it's done.

I’m having renewed memories of spatial problems trying to figure out a 3D Contrux model from a combo of one angle photo and another angle of 2D illustration. Lego from the past 10 years made amaaaaazing improvements in the instructions and using fewer pegs in large plates.

OK so it was always a challenge ... I can't remember struggling with it. But I think it's because I was busy building hamster habitats.

The tiny pieces are also a pain for me to use, the technic pieces are also a hassle with my handicap. Thank you for the videos, loved lego and construx as a kid, fun to see these again

Oh, Technic is the WORST! Now I'm thinking ... regretting ... I should have included a Technic set in this video. Maybe I'll make a sequel? I just don't care for Technic because it's quite hard on my hands and also because I always disassemble my sets and reuse the parts for my own creations, and Technic parts aren't super versatile for what I do.

omg so many books to read! IDK what I'd spend more time on, the books or the construx! :D lol.

ok! the cylinder thingy here at 16:12 - there are two ways to do it with small bits - you attach the knuckle (how the bleep do I remember what its called?!) to the small beam, then attach the beam upside down into the knuckle that is on the cylinder thingy already... it had a name... OR you hold the small beam (with the knuckle on it) sideways and push the knuckle UP into it. .... and I am pretty sure that makes no sense written out :/

Yeah, you can't write out this stuff. But I get it. The very last part where I correct the build, that's the correct way for this set. The instructions do say how you can connect though.

Ha! I NEVER chewed tires! Maybe I should try it? That could be my next video, comparing LEGO and Construx and my Mazda tires for chew satisfaction. Just kidding!!!

There's someone on a Construx Facebook group I follow who uses a 3-D printer to make Construx.

@@ConstruxtiveChris humm I would think that some parts would not print the same as others making it impossible to do so in a regular function.

@@DeconvertedManI have no idea. Zero experience with 3D printing. Person on Construx Action Building System Facebook group seems to be doing all right with it.
