I believe a 'freemium' business model works there; attracting attention via content marketing (blogs, videos, public speech etc), and giving some tips once you've got the first call from a potential client. And "sign the contract to learn more" is probably what comes next... Very interesting to see this applied in many industries such as software services; so why not do it in consulting...

It is applied in Consulting and indeed across most industries these days. The sequence is (1) content marketing to create awareness (2) Opt-in for more valuable content (3) make an offer for paid services. Most good businesses these days can rely almost 100% on inbound sales leads. We don't have 'sales' staff in any of my businesses.

Sadly I'm a bit time poor, but if there are topics you'd like me to cover, let me know. Though there are 83 videos on here already.

@@ConsultingBusinessSchool yes i am scrolling through your videos. If you were prepared to discuss some of the scenarios you have dealt with in the past ie intresting real life consulting stories. Is always great to hear a yarn. Thankyou for the content. Hope you are travelling well.

Thank you for the video. Great content! I work for a manufacturing company that helps people build products. Pretty much anything besides chemicals, food and software. I am from NYC but have been living in China for 2 years now. The company I work with is mid-size but scaling really fast. I am trying to distinguish myself from the company as an independent consultant. Technically they are my only client and all of my work goes through them. At the end of the day, my job is to bring in clients. Do you have any advice as to how to establish myself as my own entity without using their name or assets? The company provides leads for me, but I make much more money if I find the leads myself. Thanks in advance!

This is always tricky, as 'technically' it sounds like they are your employer. So start promoting your own business as a 'side hustle'.. Website, blog, social media channels, networking....

@@ConsultingBusinessSchool Thank you so much for your reply. They are not my employer as I only get paid on commission. Although I started as a sales guy, I am now pretty much a consultant or business development guy. I am people's eyes and ears here in China. It's tricky to establish myself outside of the company. Ultimately, I really just want what everyone else wants, more leads. It would be great if you can make a video on searching for leads. I'm in a situation where it seems there are endless leads out there but I don't know the most effective way to find them. The company I work with is partnered with Kickstarter and indiegogo, worked with major brands like Disney, GoPro, Monster. With a world full of entrepreneurs looking to source and build products, there is no shortage of opportunity. But I just can't seem to stop relying on the company leads. Really hard to build a funnel for myself. Anyways, thanks for your time. Love the channel!

How to consult as a chef?
@ConsultingBusinessSchool4 жыл бұрын
1. Who will be your target market? 2. What will you provide them with? 3. Do they need it? 4. Will they be willing to pay for it?
@sellothulo6484 жыл бұрын
@@ConsultingBusinessSchool I can answer all of these questions but I'll be giving my strategyaway, is there an email addresses where I can further explain myself and get better guidance?

@@sellothulo648 I'm sorry, but at the moment I don't provide 1 on 1 coaching about consulting. Just through lack of time! I have 5 businesses to run. Maybe in future if I have more time.
