He lived a blessed life with many different jobs. Not trapped in a celebrity hell; and clean liver, kind and generous. A role model for generations! RIP a wonderful person, Lloyd Price.

i still love his music today even after his first local hit from kenner, louisiana, "lawdy, lawdy miss clawdy. however, he was in my basic training company, fort bliss, texas. he spent most of the time at the p.x. listening to his records on the juke box and didn't like to soldier. tragically, the last time i saw him, he was being dragged by two m.p's by his ankles away to prison. he was crying for his momma. after that display, this very young private became a good soldier.

Lloyd Price, an R&B singer from New Orleans whose scorching 1950s recordings “Lawdy Miss Clawdy” and “Stagger Lee” became crossover hits seminal to the development of rock music, and whose later endeavors included owning record labels and promoting boxing matches, died May 3, 2021 at a care facility in New Rochelle, N.Y. He was 88.

You all keep saying your father or someone loved him, but he was my 12 year old crush. He was gorgeous then, and still is. And his music was one of a kind - everything he did had a special sound (Which we never hear anymore) Thanks for this, and everyone, just go listen to him. He was so unique.
