Container Rolls Over Between Freeways. This is the second rollover at this exact spot I've posted this year alone. The 710 South transition to the 405 South freeway where they merge is a hot spot, and today's episode is definitely a nail biter. 40,000+ lbs loaded in the container, that miraculously did not fully tear open. If you remember the last job we did here, the entire side ripped open and spilled out the contents down below.
We did the same setup as last time, with Hulk pushing it away while Alex controls the rear, and Hector controls the front. All 3 trucks working in unison got this up in record time, then was rigged to Hector's 50ton Vulcan wrecker to tow it to Long Beach.
Bailey's straps were used on all container pockets for the lift, with a Bailey's equalizing sling attached to the front to make sure the tractor comes up 100% even with the container the entire time. We might make it look easy, but this one was pretty difficult due to the position it was in. We have so much experience that we already know how to rig and where to put the trucks, but that doesn't make the job any less dangerous.
I used a few angles for the upright to show you guys what it looks like from every corner and even the sky, what did everyone think about the multiple cameras?
Don't forget to head to www.pepestowla.com/shop after the video and grab your cool Pepe's swag to represent your favorite tow company!

This video speaks volumes about the "character" of Pepe's Towing. There's Uncle Manny, one of the company owners, with a broom in hand sweeping up the little pieces. Super cool to see Uncle Manny in the video. Even WAY more super cool to see him like this!! As a bonus, there is the textbook Pepe's container rollover.

Bosses in the field not just in the office barking orders like Josh said. This makes me want to become a driver just so I can work for these guys. There’s nothing more motivating than seeing the owner of a business out in the field working along side the employees.

Great to see your Uncle Manny there today... Awesome to see a 'generational' business. You don't get to see many of them nowadays. Your professional smooth operator, Uncle Manny looks like he has worked hard all his life and still gets things done. Amazing guy... Look after him...

I was just thinking that I would watch a show on TV about heavy recovery but then I changed my mind. Part of what makes this channel and other content on KZbin or other platforms great is you don't have some producer and director inserting unnecessary drama. The stakes are already high enough here and I love that I can just watch some guys go to work lifting 40+ tons in some cases to help keep traffic flowing and allow people like me to just get to where I want to go. With all the camera shots and the explanations of what choices are made and why content like this is both entertaining and informative. Thanks for doing what you do!

I can't believe the wrecks I see here and on other channels. I drove truck for 17 years all 48 states and never put a scratch on one. No moving violations or accidents. I never even saw wrecks like this. Don't these people know how to drive? Sheesh... I mean, I can unnderstand equipment failures but.... wow.

I work around a lot of moving machinery and other elements the are dangerous that can in a split second harm or kill a person . Most ppl viewing don't realize the dynamics, al the things like this scenario, trip and fall thru the gaps, crush hazards, pinch points, below foot conditions, that you need to be aware of every second every step the whole time. It's literally a game of survival while working.

I'm curious: since you have the boom remote, why wouldn't just step into a hook and lift yourself to the top of these trailers rather than getting out a ladder? Not trying to me a smartass, genuinely wondering why not? I thought the same thing with the rescue at the bottom of the bridge where they brought the Mountain Rescue guys in. Seems like it would have been much quicker and safer to hook the stretcher basket to your boom and use it to bring everyone up altogether to get them to the helicopter.

OSHA would like to have a word, why cut corners when everything else needs to be done correctly. He has harnessed up before and let the hook do the work, but technically if you ask the manufacturer if they were designed to hold people, yes they can hold massive amounts of weight, the answer is no. It's not safe.

3rd world cheap labor thats all the trucking industry hires. They could give a hoot. About catastrophic truck wrecks, its all about cheap forein labor and wall street. Making their pennies. In truth the trucking execs cheap foreign labor will cost their ass on nuclear court settlements because lawyers know the public is very prejudice against anyone driving 18 wheelers.
