I VERY much doubt it was brake "failure" - more like the driver forgot to SET the brakes!! For those who don't know, truck air brakes are designed to slam ON when air pressure drops (unlike railroad air brakes), and on a tractor like this Volvo, there are 4 brake chambers - two on each drive axle - that will activate when air pressure drops below a certain pressure (around 30 psi).

I call bullshit.... I saw no strapping and no dunnage/blocking at the sides.....I couldn't tell if there was front/rear securement. This load appeared to be simply stacked in the middle of the deck. This driver could argue that the load shifted and pulled the trailer over. Based on the quick look of this video, it's a good argument. Meanwhile, It might be that the same company that loaded this box kept it from leaving so they could quickly re-load it. This is the difference between the trucking company insurance paying the bill or being paid. Did this load shift first or was the driver speeding.....? I don't know...And neither does the tow truck driver. I was a can hauler for the first several years of my trucking career..... If a container had intact shipper seals on the door, I didn't give a shit. If the container was NOT SEALED then the load securement was mine to inspect and approve..... I refused more than one load because I didn't like the way it was secured. I might be mistaken but I saw NO SEAL on the can door...... If true, this driver was responsible for the load securement, and the resulting damages.

And FDOT don’t have something to say about this?
