There's a 3rd option. Microsoft Clipchamp is a free video editor in Windows 11 (or Microsoft Store). You can use the Text-to-Speech option in order to copy/paste the text you want to be read aloud, and you can select the language and the voice (male or female) you want to use. You "save" the text and it will create the audio part. You can then export the video with just audio. What I'm doing now for example is: 1.starting from a pdf converted into Power Point file 2.copying/pasting each Power Point page "image" into Clipchamp. 3.copying/pasting the text of each page into Clipchamp, in order to create the AI voice text-to-speech for each page. I need a video so my goal is different.

Thanks for the info. There are so many new tools coming out every day that it's hard to know which one to try out without spending all your time on playing around with them!

hey! i used OBS software instead, and used 'audio output capture' to pick up my desktop audio. audacity didn't work for me as my speakers did not show up as a recording channel. hope this helps!

I specifically had it set to not record the microphone since otherwise the video recording I was doing would have an echo in it. Recording a video where I demo recording a video is always tricky! If you want any sound from the computer itself (like a program) to be heard on a video, you need to make sure you have 'system sound' being recorded too. Eg, if you're recording your microphone but also want the sound on a video to be heard. However, then you'll want to turn off your microphone when you're playing that video so you don't get the echo. Not sure if that makes sense or not, so let me know.

No problem! I use an app called Descript, which has been a lifesaver for me when editing videos, sound, adding captions, removing filler words, etc. It's like editing a Word document since you can just edit the transcription that it automatically creates. Here's my link to it: contentsparks.com/descript
