The best thing to do if you're wanting to share it is to save it as a video. You can do this by going to the File menu, and then changing the file type to MP4.

Very good video. I do not get the same screen when I click Slide Show. I get to chose to start from the beginning or start from current slide. Then it opens to a screen that has the record/pause/stop button in the left corner. I then start my narration. When I play it back there is nothing there.

Go into your control panel, go to sound settings, find your microphone and increase the volume.

You wouldn't really be able to do it whilst recording the narration. You would need to use a video editor. Once you've converted the PowerPoint file to a video, you would import that into a video editor, then import your music track, and adjust the audio to dip when you're speaking.

Pre-recorded audio can simply be inserted as an audio file (Insert > Audio > Audio on my PC)

Thanks, but I do not have the RECORD option in my PPT menu or anywhere else. So when I do a drop down from SLIDE SHOW, the only options I see are FROM START, FROM CURRENT or PRESENTER VIEW. You should state that the author must save the file (!!) and that to see the animated/narrated version, the viewer must open the file, select 'slide show', then choose 'From beginning'!

Hello Patricia, thank you very much, I'm so glad you liked it! Converting a PowerPoint presentation to an MP4 is actually very straightforward. Simply go to File > Save As, and then click on the 'Save as type' drop down list that appears immediately underneath where you type the filename. In that list you'll find 'MPEG-4 Video', and that's it. I hope this helps.
