I think the fact that it was a complicated setup and that the home contestant could lose the game for the studio contestant by not playing the game correctly is why it was retired. I remember the episode where the home contestant messed up on all three items and the studio contestant lost through no fault of their own.

Those women contestants were smokin' hot. I agree with Bob's comment to Robert. :D Also, Phone Home Game was the only pricing game where a contestant could appear on the show from home and still be eligible to be a contestant in the studio.

They didn't want to keep people on hold for so long knowing that the home contestant could hang up or the phone company could dump on them by the time the game got played. There could also be a phone outage or other circumstances beyond their control.
