You can tell Josh edits it when almost every joke or reference Josh makes gets a special edit. Does anyone else edit Continue anymore though or what because it's been Josh on every episode for a while now. Also you guys are crazy, this game looks fun. The side-switching mechanic makes you strategize and maneuver in specific ways, and that's a pretty clever game mechanic.

I've actually played this game before, it's pretty much a side-scrolling Ikaruga but is a lot sillier. I remember it was an entertaining game, but it was definitely not meant for everyone. Which is one of the reasons I won't get all pissy that Paul and Josh didn't really like. Still a good episode regardless. :D

I knew they wouldn't like it because it's too hard for them, plus they didn't understand the kill or drain mechanic. Just because they didn't get it, they tend to just dislike it, which is human nature anyway. Personally, I rented it as a child and got pretty far and still like it, though, it is ridiculously hard later on and I've never beaten it and might never beat it. Still I'd "Continue" so long as the instructions and game mechanics were understood golf forward.

If only you played the japanese sega saturn version. Working Designs REALLY screwed this game over when localizing it for the playstation. Not even just the story department, they fucked up the gameplay, too. Because in the sega saturn version, you didn't lose spirit when firing your weapons or any of that. It also doesn't tease you with a bunch of locked options.

Agreed!! Working Designs normally does great work but they did fumble here, also the English voice clips are a bit too annoying, for their own good. Working Designs tried, but they really shouldn’t have had their actors scream all their lines. Especially not for a game like this where you’re hearing them a lot. The Japanese audio clips are far more gentle and less harsh

This game's concept was basically refined and improved in Ikaruga, so you gotta give it credit for that! Silhouette Mirage's strength is in the bosses though, there's some really crazy ones and the mechanic actually really works well on them. The mechanic is just too clunky in regular stages and is just wrecks the pacing. Also you were playing the English version. Working Designs went really overboard in upping the difficulty in this one. The Japanese version is a lot easier, plus the additional weapons don't have ammo in that.

This game looks interesting, tbh. It seems like there's a gimmick or game mechanic they're not quite getting and I'd like to experiment with it on my own. The main character is super cute and I really like her style, and the voice acting appeals to me. This game seems really good aesthetic-wise to me, but I'd have to look into finding it myself to see if the gameplay holds up.

+maugos It's also kind of the entire idea of the show that they're playing a game literally for only a half hour and they often go in with no knowledge of the game itself. It's a "first impressions" type show, and I know there's a lot of games I love today that I didn't like when I first played them for whatever reason until I came back and tried them again.
