Man, Konami's games for the Genesis look GREAT. Between this and Castlevania Bloodlines, there's so much unique visual tech. It almost looks like an SNES game.

@@yurifaggu The Genesis and SNES were made with different ideas in mind. The SEGA Genesis focused more on being able to run very quickly to compliment action games, meaning that less could be shown on screen at once to keep it running smoothly. The SNES ran at about half the speed, but this was mostly because of the fact that it had many fancy visual effects (look up mode 7 and you'll see what I mean) and more objects could be on screen at once.

Probotector is WAY too expensive compared to Contra: Hard Corps... Same game but reskinned and slower, why is it like 300€ and contra hard corps is 70€

I'm surprised they didn't mention the secret ending of the game that you can get to right at the beginning of the game. Edit: nevermind, they do a separate secret ending run after the first one.

I started playing this game around 6 months ago, after about 2 weeks of intensive playing I managed to complete all endings. It's mostly pattern recognition like the souls games, with a little RNG thrown in. It was so satisfying to get those first clears and is still just as satisfying to make them more efficient, I'm still yet to manage a no hit run but I'm not far off. This game was years ahead of its time and still holds up today. I would urge you to keep plugging at that first level as it's such a great game to master.

I think I only ever beat the jungle autoscroller boss twice out of hundreds of attempts as a kid. Of course, I had the American version and didn't have all that extra health to work with.

He explains the text scrolls faster and you get the 3 hit points so can tank some hits for a faster run.

The only two things I didn't get was they never quite explained why exactly they picked Sheena or what that "Shot-I" was for. I knew from watching and listening that each of the characters had their own weapons in the A-D slots, and they have their own attack strength, and they seemed to favor using Sheena's laser weapon, but they never made it 100% clear why. As for the Shot thing, I'd see it sometimes change from Shot-I to Shot-II and then back. What does that exactly mean and how does it function, because they never said anything about it.

Shot 1 is free shot, ie move and shoot. Shot 2 is fixed, ie when you are firing you are unable to walk but can fire in 8 directions. Knowing which to use and when is very important
