The revamp of the all time Konami favorite and classic is here, it's Contra! A game that is pretty much the all time example of how to make a run 'n' gun, from its simple and smooth controls, straight forward action, variety of power-ups, and of course, memorable tunes! This soundtrack is an all time classic in the NES and Retro scene, Hidenori Maezawa & Kyouhei Sada do a fantastic job arranging Kazuki Muraoka's original arcade tunes, with the Introduction (and SFX jingles) being the original contributions brought on by Maezawa and Sada! This OST version also includes all the Famicom exclusive tracks, from the Intro, Final Boss victory jingle, and Intermission SFX's, it's a shame realizing how the USA version is stripped of all the fancy graphical animations and cutscenes, would have really made this game even more fantastic, but it's still great! Contra will always be the landmark for how fun and simple run 'n' guns can be, that title screen jingle especially will live on forever in many hearts!

It's hard to believe that I have been listening to your uploads for 8 years or more. New ones all sound so good that I find it hard to go back and listen to the old stuff. Can't wait for usa and japanese rygar uploads

14:32- Get to da choppa! Fun Fact: Bill and Lance were based off Arnold Schwarzenegger from Predator and Sylvester Stallone from Rambo. The mini-boss at 13:10 is also clearly a rip-off of the alien from the Alien franchise.

For who wants to know: the European, certainly the German version was called Probotector and did not feature humans, neither as the heroes, nor as enemies. The heroes were shining metallic robots and the enemies were varying robotic machines, mostly two-legged. The rest was identical, I think. Amazing game and soundtrack, yes. With the Konami code, we played it through repeatedly. Oh, the reason for this graphics choice was: human on human violence was not allowed. Think of that what you will.
