Thanks Norberto! This is definitely a bit older video but some decent tips and tricks in there... I'll have to do an update to it soon! New, better methods of modeling shoring now with the railing tools

Have you ever tried Land4 for ArchiCAD?
@CONTRABIM2 жыл бұрын
Nope, just learned about it right now. Looks interesting for sure especially some of the point cloud to mesh features. Thanks for sharing a note on it, I may have to do a trial:)

Hi! John. For me is not quite comfortable editing tie-back shoring. May be created gdl object for this. Add setting on nuber of anker, size for panel? I think object is really helpful to you.

Thx for the comment, & great suggestion on GDL! For myself, I'm typically referencing in sections, elevations, and tie-back charts from the engineering teams, and the input and modification of individual components is easier for me than with GDL. I also produce takeoffs for tie-backs (LF), soldier beams (LF), and lagging (SF) individually to link up to sequence schedules and estimates. GDL has huge potential, but sometimes I still prefer the granularity and control of individual components. BUT...I think it'd be super interesting to walk thru the steps of building such an object...perhaps in a future video. Do you have much experience with advanced GDL?

Also, the modeling approach I used in this tutorial, was quite frankly terrible compared to how I planned to do it. Something I'm doing a followup video on because it certainly wasn't my best demo on the shoring system :)

I know gdl on low level, i make edit finish object (add simple parameters and some functions). In my company we order this objects from programmers. Not much many people in Russia knows GDL, nevertheless some of this works free. Big respect them for that! =)

Hey I built a topo surface with Cadmapper and the Element Operations do not work on it because it's a morph and not a mesh. How can I make Deep Excavations when im working on a morph? Thanks in advance
@CONTRABIM3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick. The solid element operations should still function with a morph. Both a solid and non-solid morph should be able to get subtracted from. I just did some testing to make sure it does work and I didn't have any problems. You could also use a morph to cut a morph with the boolean operations>subtract function.
