Can i know what is your specification for your desktop that your working for this ArchiCAD. Very super smooth

Hi Mr Asyraf! So I believe when I originally recorded this, I was working on a Dell Precision Laptop with i7 and 4gb card and 16gb ram. I can't remember the exact specs, but the machine was top of the line when I bought it, but motherboard shorted out so I'm now working on a lenovo P51 laptop with mobile xeon processor and 4gb card, Quadro m2200. Already had to replace the motherboard and all 64gbs of ram on this machine, but it's still plugging away:) Thanks for the question!

Can you share the module which you used in the video?
@CONTRABIM3 жыл бұрын
Oh man this is an old module... I'm going to be revisiting steel structures here soon and will have some new modules I could share! I'd recommend just placing several columns and beams and building your own, will likely be quicker:)

great could u make a video on modelling precast structures with modular construction techniques in archicad i think there is great possibilities
@CONTRABIM6 жыл бұрын
Sure, I love precast concrete structures. Can you post a link to an image or article that describes the modular type components you have in mind?
@FinoMarg6 жыл бұрын
ContraBIM heres the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXLaoH2Ig8SpbcU construction has become fast and modular so should the tools. but the problem is that ARCHICAD don't have precast tools as are available for REVIT. also REVIT has great integration with structural analysis softwares. so u will get the whole idea what i am talking about from the link
@CONTRABIM6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rajul for the link. I'm actually a huge fan of Tekla Structures, used it in the past for CIP detailing as well as some Precast. Very powerful tool for structural detailing, embed placement, and parametric connections. I think you mean Tekla as opposed to Revit here... Anyways, ArchiCAD does have Precast Structural elements in the ArchiCAD Library. I have these included in my base Library, linked up for quantities and estimation. I'll do a video on it here soon!

ContraBIM thanks, waiting for video yes tekla has far more LOD and precast tools then revit. as a bim software revit has great native precast tools but archicad lacks structural tools. both these softwares go head to head with each other. i think GRAPHISOFT should develop rock solid precast tools for archicad as the MEP MODELER is addon to archicad what do u think?? as IFC collaboration has some shortcomings
@CONTRABIM6 жыл бұрын
For structural detailing, and analysis, ArchiCAD definitely has some room for improvement. That certainly isn't their primary objective, but the functionality is all there to develop custom solutions for really any purpose. The precast objects in their library are ok, but for more complex geometry profiles, operators, and GDL objects can get it done. MEP Modeler works fine once you setup your systems and get the clicks, but I wish they had better options for connections (coupling types and joining methods). IFC i'm a fan of, and the IFC Manager tool in ArchICAD is great. Understanding all the settings of IFC translators takes some time, but has a ton of control for import/export once you do. Thanks for the comments and questions!

This is coming... A new integration with structural analysis. I saw a demo at KCC 2019 and it looks very promising.

Why don't you use Beam or Column tool with profile? Regard.
@CONTRABIM4 жыл бұрын
Great question. I've always preferred using the objects as the library of of steel shapes is already there and preloaded. It also makes it a little easier to switch shapes without having to constantly import profiles. It can definitely be done either way, but with beams and columns you'll need to pay a little more attention to the sizing and details if you want to use it for weights and tonnage calcs. Thanks for the question!

I'd probably use a complex profile for that?

Very good afternoon, thank you for the video, but a better and detailed explanation of the scheme, step by step, would be nice. I would think that the idea is to share knowledge on these platforms. Thank you very much.
