Wow now that is a major undertaking! 1st having to attach chains to the top of the cab, hoist it up to release the tension of the ropes on the driven sheave. And beforehand bracing or tying off the counterweight near the bottom of the shaft. Then pulling up the gear box, and a chain hoist to lift the sheave out. plus fresh oil for the crown wheel and worm gear.
