Good video , I suggest that you make a video of French Contrast Training with example / set of exercises for the lower and upper extremity !

Should you warm up before you do the first conditioning exercise of >80 load, should we do a dynamic warm up, working sets or just go straight in to the conditioning exercise?

Can I ask - for sprinters IN-SEASON. Resistance training 2xpw - how would you play with contrasts/protocols? 1 max strength and 1 power or 2 contrast? Would you ever position an occasional Hypertrophy/Endurance session in the mesocycle to keep adaptations novel? Would love a view from a well established coach? Thank you.

I am not a sprint coach but I don't think the exact structure of the session matters all that much. It is more about managing fatigue and doing what the trainee can handle rather than getting caught up of the details 👍

I see lots of examples of CT without resting period between “conditioning exercises” and “performance exercises”, is that ok too?
@FlowHighPerformance1

It should be okay, but you will probably get more benefit from resting between exercises 👍

sounds to me that would be better for training for conditioning, but worse for training for power and explosiveness which kinda defeats the purpose

If you implement it correctly it should work well for strength and power development 👍

@@FlowHighPerformance1 you yourself went on and on in the video about how the athlete should feel fresh and be able to perform with maximum quality for every rep of every set

Yes exactly, you need to allow enough rest between exercises to be fresh. Sorry, I didn't realise that you were referring to the above comment regarding no rest between exercises 👍

@FlowHighPerformance1
@FlowHighPerformance1 4 жыл бұрын

Hi, at drop jump how obtain " max effort"? You make it from a specific height box with specific load, or how?
@FlowHighPerformance1
@FlowHighPerformance1 3 жыл бұрын
Put maximal effort into the jump. Ie. Max jump height and minimal ground contact time 👍

Do just simply mix Contrast Training into a regular session? or just choose a fresh day to do it only? And I assume it's optimal using Contrast Training during Intensification or Realisation phases right?

Would be more efficient to have a contrast training phase of a month, look toward the nasm opt model for more info
