I've been using the MC6 with the BeatBuddy for months. It works flawlessly and is now an indispensable addition to my live rig. The MC8 combined with the Aeros Loop Studio is another perfect combination. Your MIDI controllers are second to none! Compact, quiet switches and very customizable. Thank you for a great product!

Can you use the midi Maestro to control the Aeros and the MC6 to control your beat buddy?
@rickthestick82 жыл бұрын
@@MikaelLewisify Yes, I originally had it set up that way. The main problem I have with both of them are that the switches are so noisy, otherwise it's flawless.

Hi, great video and it has me 90% there. At the 48 second mark in the video, you demonstrate the FLDR page and on it, you have a Entr/Bck function on button B. At the 50 second mark, you tap button B which then seems to go into the folder and allows you to scroll through the different tracks/songs. But you don't show the programming for that button B. I think it is simply issuing another CC118. Then, at the 7:53 mark you explain that you have to press on the BEATBuddy footswitch to select the song, or use the Emulate Footswitch Press and Release. My issue is doing this does not select the song for me, it just starts the BEATBuddy playing the song that was previously selected.
@MorningstarEngineering27 күн бұрын
The Enter/Exit Folder function can be found in the MIDI Dictionary. You are right. It is CC#118, we explain that at 7:03 actually. If you are still having trouble with your Song Select switch, please send us an email at ‘help@morningstarfx.com’. We provide support from there. A service ticket will be created for you and we will be able to follow up easily. ________________________________________

Right to the point.Easy to follow.I have a Beatbuddy and Midi Maestro,also using a temporary 2 footswitch pedal plugged into the BB.Using an MC8 could I also send commands to my RC-600?Eliminating the Midi Maestro?Or would I be better off using Both?Your Morningstar Editor puts probably the MC-8 on my Very Short List.Your Editor is the easiest to navigate I've ever seen.Wish I would have found your company sooner..I have 8 unused Assigns on the RC-600.I'd like to use the Rythems in the RC-600 with the BB.I was doing that with the RC-300.2 drummers in a loop gives a Whole different feel.

Thank you for this tutorial! Your timing was impeccable as I was just switching over to the BOSS RC-500 Rhythm because I could control via MC-8 Midi! Now, I can put my BeatBuddy back on the pedalboard! Only one question now - Can I start a free time loop on my RC-500 and set the BPM on the BeatBuddy from that tempo via a Midi return or Midi-thru from the RC-500? Thank you again for these tutorials they are so valuable!

Hi. Glad that you found this video helpful. You can choose whichever device you want to be your master clock. Just keep in mind not to send MIDI clock from any of your other devices or you will confuse the receiving devices. You should only have 1 master clock. Yes, MIDI clock can be transmitted via MIDI in and thru ports.

Can you confirm the Beatbuddy Midi settings to use, clock sync etc. The tap tempo seems a little unreliable - should the MC6 also be sending continuous clock etc.
@MorningstarEngineering2 жыл бұрын
Hi. You can sync the beatbuddy via MIDI clock if you wish too. Just enable the Sync setting on it. We made a video explaining how to control tempo using MIDI clock with our controllers here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZicmHSNj6aflas

Hi, thanks form the tutorial! It partially works for me 🙃 What is not working: tap tempo and tempo increase/decrease. I just copied the commands from the dictionary as explained. But I‘m not sure which kind of action to take. Thos was not explained in the tutorial. E.g. I tried ‚long press scroll‘ for tempo in/de-crease… does not work. 2 further questions: 1) I want the ‚pause‘ functionality immediately, not after a kind of outro fill. How to do that? 2) Generally I don‘t want an outro fill. Is this only possible by changing the dedicated rhythm pattern via the editor? I wondered because with the intro fill one can choose to use it or not to use it directly as an option on the BB. Thanks a lot! Jürgen

Thanks for the video. Can a Morningstar make program changes on both a BeatBuddy and a Boss RC300? So if I had loops prerecorded on the Boss and one on the Beatbuddy, I'd like for presets on both units to change simultaneously to the next song. Thanks!

Hi. Yes, you can easily do that. You can send up to 16 messages with a single switch on our controllers. Sending a PC message to each device with one press is a basic function you can achieve. For more information visit us at www.morningstar.io/

Hello.. Regarding using it with Beatbuddy, is there a way to set a button for tempo increasement(decreasement) if holding a button, its tempo continously moves upward or downward? I have used "press" and "Long press" with BeatBuddy temp increasement but in only increases(decreases) two maximum, not continously.
@MorningstarEngineering2 жыл бұрын
You need to add a 'Long Press Scroll' action to trigger the message too. That way you can hold it down to increase or decrease tempo as well. Add this message after your original message with the Press action.

Hello, Is it possible to use MC6 with Beatbuddy original external pedal? My idea is to keep the original pedal as the pedal to start and stop and add MC6 as other fuctions like moving to the part I want or increasing/decreasing tempo. Will it be possible to use both pedals at the same time?

Hi David. There should be no reason why MIDI and Beatbuddy's external foot switches cannot be used at the same time. But check with Singular sound to be sure first.
