Hey there, are there options to daisy chain the MC6 Pro to effectively provide me with 12 footswitches for custom MIDI messaging?
@MorningstarEngineering
@MorningstarEngineering Күн бұрын
Yes, you can connect 2 MC6 PROs and have them bank up/down in tandem and control each other. The best way to do this would be to connect the USB Host Port of MC6 PRO 1 to the USB Device Port of MC6 PRO 2. When you scroll up/down through banks on MC6 PRO 1, MC6 PRO 2 will follow and match the banks too. You will also be able to send MIDI messages from one to the other.

Hello there, i am trying to figure out how to use my MC6 Pro as interface for uploading presets to my Mercury X banks. I am using SysEx Librarian and Meris prEditor and it is asking me which port is input and output and i am not sure which to choose or how to set up

Preset spillover is the default for the nano cortex so adding the MC6 Pro shouldn't change that behavior.

@@MorningstarEngineering I'm sorry, but even if the MC6 Pro is a great piece of gear.. I think that particular contraption is not ideal by a good long shot... It raises the price to double and also the real estate needed, introduces cables and points of possible failure with that. At that point I consider myself better off with a helix LT or anything other than that nano cortex. But if other people love it that's great.

@@musicsurfandrats This is why I use all in one units. But for those who want to use individual pedals and don't want to tap dance then some sort of switcher is needed. Every setup has its pros and cons.

Hi morning star,is there a way to control pedals that have a switch bypass/activate like the Hotone Soulpress 2 ? Meaning,have the pedal move from heel to toe as expected and also make use of the switch to activate or bypass like a Wah block ?
@MorningstarEngineering
@MorningstarEngineering 7 күн бұрын
For your use case, you need to use the Toe Down CC message to activate your effect block with an exp pedal connected to your Morningstar controller. You can then use the Send CC on Disengage message to deactiate the effect. The Soul Press 2 built-in switch is not wired to have any connection beyond engaging/bypassing the internal wah circuit on the Soul Press itself or toggling between wah and volume.

It would be very nice if we are able to do the same bank rearrangement in the Morningstar Editor Banks list tab by simply dragging the Banks around, or at least the Banks tab in the Morningstar Editor to automatically reflect our Bank Arrangement Custom Sequence. How was that overlooked? I just found I'm not the only one struggling with this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpmUg5SOj9GWqJo

Hopefully not too off topic.. I have an ox9 switch that I am currently using to scroll up and down on my h9. Would I be able to use that in conjunction with say an mc6, so that i can scroll up and down on the ox9 and have access to all 6 switches on the mc6 soley for one button preset recalling?

Yes, no issues with that! The ox9 uses the aux input on the H9 while the MC6 connects to the H9 MIDI In port.

I had quite a GO with this, but finally made a progress. I managed to program the left button on my external 2 buttons MIDI switch (The switch from my Bugera Amp used to remotely trigger my amp Channel and Reverb) to do Page Toggle, the right button to do Bank Up, and both buttons together to do Bank Down. Initially when I followed this tutorial, in MC6 MKII settings when I choose either FixedSw1 or FixedSw2, the controller was doing bank toggle change and not a page change as advised it should do in this video. Go figure! I also tried programming the pedal as Aux Switch, but I could not figure how to assign the Toggle Page function to it in the Editor until I noticed there is a tab called Controller Settings. In there you have to scroll down and find Configure Omniports > TRS Aux Switch > Tip - Toggle Page > Ring - Bank Up > Tip + Ring - Bank Down > Save Settings. I wish that was in the manual, but it is NOT. Such a pain to figure by myself.

I was trying to figure one thing out. Let’s say I have position 1 of a preset, let’s call it “Song A Verse” , and position 2 of that same preset as “Song A chorus”. While I’m playing and I’m at position 1, I see “Song A Verse” showing on the LED screen. But the problem is at that time I can’t see the name of position 2 and I don’t know what position 2 will bring me to. I’m thinking if I should set up position 1 and write the real name of position 1 on the display of position 2 so I can see what’s gonna happen when I stomp on it. BUT, if so, I won’t be able to recognize the preset when it’s bypassed cuz it’s always displaying position 1 when it’s bypassed (which showing the real name of position 2) Sorry I wonder if I made myself clear….

awesome! The best switcher I've seen so far! I think there's only 2 features missing to make it perfect for me: 1.: frequency splits (split into 2 paths at a specific frequency, so you can for example keep the lows clean and fat and distort the highs) 2.: blend option for each block (so that you can chose, how much of the connected pedal should be added to the signal. This would be great to have one solid constant sound base with different amounts of distortions)
