The way I imagine the X wind correction is that you have PVC pipes attached to your hands, facing vertically when you are making no control inputs. In order to properly correct for X-wind, the wind has to be able to travel into the openings and through your PVC pipe. This helps me a lot and when I become a CFI I will teach this to my students. Maybe I’ll even buy some PVC pipe to demonstrate

hey mate, same with me, I didn't understand why its opposite when its a tailwind. This vid helped me understand: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6iWepaogaZ5nq8si=r40-gjewzSqrjwd8 My explanation: Wind from back. Back right explaination. The wind has potential to lift the right wing and elevator. Especially if backpressure=elevator up, and right aileron=right aileron up Causes a lift force on the elevator and the right wing. Hope this helps
