calibration is a comparison of unknown quantity versus with known measurement with specified accuracy. The calibrator equipment must have at least 10 times higher accuracy than the working measuring device. That is the most important definition for calibration. A lot professional can not explain this term accurately and in a simple words.

I have a question about calibration requirements in correlation to the ts standards. Specifically the ts 16949 but in general access to calibration status of individuals that use calibrated test equipment. We are certified ts 16949, our calibration is performed both in house and third party. Do those that use test equipment to ensure quality product also need access to current calibration status of the measuring equipment used per the technical standard?

Repeatability is more important than accuracy? Seriously? They are equally as important in safety systems and critical measurements. Looking for videos for our new techs to watch. I've been doing calibrations for over 30 years and am certified to do ISO calibrations and have worked in both the nuclear and pharmaceutical industries. A couple of statements in this video just won't fly in those industries. Then there's the issue of SIL instrumentation.
