I think that removing Chromatic Lantern is a huge mistake in this deck. Yes, the mana base can guarantee that you get at least one of all of your colors. But this deck has so many colors, and is so mana hungry, that it wants MORE than one of each color every turn. This is especially true with Kenrith; no matter what you have in hand, you ALWAYS have an opportunity to activate one of his abilities if you need it... but only if you have the right color for it. Do you want to play a blue spell, and ALSO want to draw a card with Kenrith? With Chromatic Lantern, you'll never have that problem. Most decks that often want to cast mutliple spells per turn can make good use of use Chromatic Lantern-style fixing, but in a deck like Kenrith, which always has access to five different colored activated abilities, it's invaluable. I don't have a Kenrith deck myself, but I know that in my Garth deck Chromatic Lantern opens up lines of play that no manabase could ever hope to make consistent. Yes, Manalith is bad, and yes, fixing is generally something you should rely on your manabase for, but in a deck that wants fixing this badly, Manalith PLUS perfect fixing is absolutely where you want to be. It's the exact same argument you use in favor of MDFCs. Chromatic Lantern may be overplayed, but this is absolutely the deck that does want it.

Yes 100%. In my Garth too, despite 6 duals, most fetches, treasures and few double pips, I still want and need chromatic lantern. As an important bonus it saves many long minutes per game as you don’t have to count your fixing and plan ahead of what you might draw later in the turn. World tree also great. All cards that make life easier and turn faster are great imo.

I tend to agree on this. My kenrith deck has 10 fetches and 10 duals but still i feel the need to put in the world tree and chromatic lantern lol. I'm not leaning into any one color so the color requirements are always strict.

Agree with all of the above but it’s also built in protection from Blood Moon effects which will cripple a 5 color deck.

My guys, I'm in the middle of making a Kenrith politics deck too, and I had a good number of these cards in there already. Wrong Turn is a fun card, but coercive portal is especially going to be neat. And ofc generous patron is an absolute must-have for this deck. I was originally thinking of maybe putting Ice Cave in there too so that other people at the table can regulate each other, but the problem is that they can all do it to you too

My friend runs a similar deck. Except his commander is Corona. He calls it his 20/20 deck. Complete with cards representing what happened in 2020. Cleansing wildfire: for the California Oregon fires. Hornet Queen: for murder hornets. It’s quite fun to play against. Especially when you end your turn with corona and have to pass him to another player.

My assumption for why you see so many lists that have three visits but not natures lore is because you had to buy a specific commander deck to get natures lore recently, unless you purposely bought a copy of the card, Whereas three visits it was a Common Commander legends so a lot of people might just have those laying around

I run Illusion of Choice in Octavia because it's a 1 mana instant that cantrips and there's a 0.005% chance it'll be really funny sometime :P Actually put Oko in my political deck too. Mostly as a catch-all like "That card could sacrifice Karona, no thanks."

The new legend from Capenna, Tivit, Seller of Secrets would honestly be a lot more fun than just a generic kenrith deck. Already thinking about building voting tribal with him, and i feel like the +1 vote stapled on your commander just means clones are absolutely busted with it. Plus etb make minimum 5 artifacts is just asking to be broken. Whether its heavy jank or heavy power, tivit just seems like the better choice.

How yall feel about droping Chromatic Lantern for Chromatic Orrery? Ya its a 7 cmc rock but the turn you play it you only lose 2 mana cuz you tap it for 5 putting you at 13 mana turn 8 with color fix.
